Our first NPS Online League Tournament of 2012 and a very impressive field of 30 runners including plenty of new faces. This year's league will be exciting to the finish because of the added prizes awarded to us by BlackBeltPoker. The league winner and the top 2 positional finisher's in the league that are Orange belt or above will win BlackBelt Live seats. The new scoring system which is shown on the Online Tournaments page and the ability to drop your worst 6 results from the 25 online league tournaments will mean a battle through to the end. The early pacesetter is Mark Atkinson, who fresh from being crowned BlackBeltPoker League XII Champion took down this event. This final table was dominated by Carlisle players with only Wayne Nixon among them to spoil the party. The top five players cashed; 5th, Dan Greenslade (Greenledge) - $32.40, 4th, Paul Lamonby (2LAMCHOP2) - $40.50, 3rd, Robert Don (narldmarine55) - $60.75, 2nd, Paul Griffiths (griffyid7777) - $109.35, 1st, Mark Atkinson (bornTOflirt) - $162 - Excellent play Champ! Our next online league tournament will be held on Monday 23rd January, 7.30pm start. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 77
  December 13th, 2011
Winner: BOB CLOUDSDALE AKA BubbleCloud
Results: 1st, Bob Cloudsdale (BubbleCloud). 2nd, Paul Lamonby (2LAMCHOP2). 3rd, Mark Atkinson (bornTOflirt). 4th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 5th, Stuart Irving (doiamuseyou). 6th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 7th, Ken Johnston (NPStars1). 8th, David Todd (hottoddy).
With only 8 players contesting our final online league tournament of 2011, the league was decided before a card had hit the virtual felt. Lee Anderson became our new Online Player of the Year with Dean Lamonby and Bob Cloudsdale finishing in second and third places respectively. Deano however won his personal duel with Bob meaning he will receive £37 from the Whitehaven man which he will collect along with his trophy at our presentation on Saturday 17th December. With only 8 players, the prizepool was $200 paid to the winner. With two of my charger's from the TAG Team being heads-up for the cash, they decided to split it $120 / $80 and Bob Cloudsdale finally got the better of Paul Lamonby. Many thanks to all that have supported the league this year. We will be back on Monday 9th January 2012 with our new league - $7.50 Double Chance - a new scoring format and added prizes awarded by blackbeltpoker. Congratulations to Lee Anderson - The Northern Poker Stars 2011 Online Champion. Later Dudes!

  November 29th, 2011
Winner: KEN JOHNSTON AKA NPStars1
Results: 1st, Ken Johnston (NPStars1). 2nd, Paul Lamonby (2LAMCHOP2). 3rd, Dan Greenslade (Greenledge). 4th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 5th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 6th, Bob Cloudsdale (BubbleCloud). 7th, Mike Martin (mikeymixitup). 8th, Mark Atkinson (bornTOflirt). 9th, Chris Kelly (laneboy1). 10th, Paul Griffiths (griffyid7777).
13 players contested our penultimate online league tournament of the year. I won't dwell on the fact that Ken Johnston won AGAIN! His fourth consecutive online league victory.. The second time in this series of victories that he triumphed over the Carlisle TD Paul Lamonby, (have I already used the adage, Master v Pupil?) although this one was much sweeter as 2LAMCHOP2 had a 70/30 chip advantage at the start of heads-up play. THE CHAMP LOVES WINNING! 3rd place and $65 went to Dan Greenslade - well played Dude. 2nd place and a cash of $97.50 went to Paul Lamonby - his third consecutive cash. Our winner, collecting $162.50, Ken Johnston. Now for the exciting part.. One tournament remaining to find the NPS 2011 Online Champion. Lee Anderson is the favourite with a 9 point lead over second placed Dean Lamonby, who is 13 points ahead of Bob Cloudsdale. Deano & Bob have a personal duel to settle too with a side-bet going to the player that finishes higher in the league. Bob will be hoping for a minimum of 14 players contesting our final league tournament in the hope that he can catch Deano.. But be warned Bob.. If you fail to register any points and I win for a fifth consecutive tournament, I might catch you! All will be resolved in our final online league tournament on Tuesday 13th December, 7:30pm. I hope more players contest our final league game and help to decide if the title goes to Carlisle for a second consecutive year and to the brother of last year's Champ or will it be a Whitehaven player wearing the crown. These players could do with your support and I could do with a fresh challenge as I am getting sick of beating these Donks. Our online league tournaments are hosted by BLACK BELT POKER. Please remember to download via this website and send me your new tablename either by text message or email. Finally I would like to congratulate Mark Atkinson for another great display in the BBP League. Mark finished 3rd/95 for just under $60 but more importantly, extended his lead at the top of the BBP League leaderboard. Let's hope the NPS star is having Christmas dinner in The Grosvenor Victoria Casino, London with Neil Channing and the BBP sponsored pro's, followed by entry into a one-table £100 SNG for live felt action against the likes of Jamie Burland, Sam Razavi and Richard Ashby. The food better be good because our boy is used to Michelin star dining. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 75
  November 15th, 2011
Winner: KEN JOHNSTON AKA NPStars1
Results: 1st, Ken Johnston (NPStars1). 2nd, Steve McMillan (StevMc89). 3rd, Paul Lamonby (2LAMCHOP2). 4th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 5th, Paul Griffiths (griffyid7777). 6th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 7th, Mike Martin (mikeymixitup). 8th, Matt Holliday (lordmatt0). 9th, Stuart Irving (doiamuseyou). 10th, Stephen Ralph (GOLDENSOMBRE).
14 players contested our latest online league tournament and may I extend a warm welcome to Steve McMillan who went on to finish in second place in his first NPS online tournament on Black Belt Poker. Bob Cloudsdale just couldn't get going and was bemoaning his luck from the start as he was not on the same table as his main rivals for Player of the Year title. I love this attitude as it shows his willingness to mix it rather than avoid the competition, and shows the confidence that he has in his own game. However Bob was to miss out on the points when UTG he ran Q,Q into K,K in the big blind held by Paul Lamonby. It looks like our reigning Online Champ has done his brother a favour. The rest is up to Deano. Both Dean Lamonby and Lee Anderson made the final table and the points. Dean extended his lead over third placed Bob Cloudsdale by some 9 points and Lee gained another 2 points over Deano. With two online events remaining, Bob needs to score big and hope both Deano and Lee are early casualties. Is the title going to Carlisle or West Cumbria? Get online and do what you can to help decide the destiny of this year's NPS Online Player of the Year title. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $70 going to Paul Lamonby - a second consecutive cash for Chops. Well played Dude. 2nd place and a cash of $105 went to Steve McMillan - one of the up-and-coming poker stars from Whitehaven. Steve started heads-up play with just over 70% of the chips in play, but unfortunately ran into a man in RED HOT form... Our winner, collecting $175, Ken Johnston... This is the third consecutive NPS online league victory (a new record) and his sixth NPS online league victory of the year (three more than any other player) and with two NPS online league tournaments remaining, he is not sick of cashing... THE CHAMP IS STILL WINNING!! Our next online league tournament will be held on TUESDAY 29TH NOVEMBER 2011, 7:30pm start, and will be hosted by BLACK BELT POKER. Please remember to download via this website and send me your new tablename either by text message or email. Later Dudes!

Winner: KEN JOHNSTON AKA NPStars1
Results: 1st, Ken Johnston (NPStars1). 2nd, Paul Lamonby (2LAMCHOP2). 3rd, Paul Griffiths (griffyid777). 4th, Stewart Telford (1stewtelf). 5th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 6th, Bob Cloudsdale (BubbleCloud). 7th, Kevin Orr (hulklogan11). 8th, Paul Farrell (fadgeitisthen). 9th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 10th, Chris Kelly (laneboy1).
12 players and it's as you were positionally in the medal positions with three to play as Bob Cloudsdale, Dean Lamonby and Lee Anderson all made the final table and thus the points. Lee has opened up a minor gap between hmiself and second placed Deano by collecting four more points than Deano and Bob closed the gap between third and second place by three points. This is going all the way to the final online tournament of the year on Tuesday 13th December. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $60 going to Paul Griffiths. Well played Griff. 2nd place and a cash of $90 went to Paul Lamonby. It was Master v Pupil heads-up and despite his declaration that he was going to win, the pupil could not decimate the master's stack. Good effort Chops and nice to see you back in the cash. Our winner, collecting $150, Ken Johnston... THE CHAMP IS STILL WINNING! Our next online league tournament will be held on TUESDAY 15TH NOVEMBER 2011, 7:30pm start, and will be hosted by BLACK BELT POKER. Please remember to download via this website and send me your new tablename either by text message or email. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 73
  October, 18th, 2011
Winner: KEN JOHNSTON AKA NPStars1
Results: 1st, Ken Johnston (NPStars1). 2nd, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 3rd, Mark Atkinson (bornTOflirt). 4th, Kevin Hollday (KevHea1982). 5th, Paul Griffiths (griffyid7777). 6th, Mike Martin (mikeymixitup). 7th, Mark Varela (VBlueBBP). 8th, Chris Kelly (laneboy1). 9th, Mike Hawkins (donquann). 10th, Paul Lamonby (2LAMCHOP2).
13 players contested our latest online league tournament and we were joined online by Kevin Holliday (KevHea1982) who went on to make the final table and finished on the bubble in his first NPS online tournament. Kevin (A,J) however made a very dramatic debut by knocking our longtime online league leader, Dean Lamonby (A,K) out of the tournament in 12th place meaning no points for Deano with worse to follow. Deano was our second player out after another of the main protagonists for the title took "an early bath" after a hand that caused much discussion and debate. With the blinds at 15/30, Mark Varela raised to 90 and was called by Chris Kelly. Bob Cloudsdale re-raised from the small blind to 390 and was called by both Mark and Chris. On a flop of 10d, 10c, 8d, Bob made a continuation bet of 500 and was raised to 1600 by Mark. Chris folded. Bob then jammed AI and Mark called. Bob showed K,K and Mark Ad,Qd. The turn brought a blank and the river a diamond to give Mark the flush and Bob was out. Mark then loosened up even more and I was subject to him raising my BB from UTG on numerous occasions, with me calling his on a couple of instances to discover he was doing so with rag aces. After I had taken a chunk of his stack when he called my river re-raise (I had a full house and Mark a set of Aces with a 2 kicker) I decided that I was not allowing him to continue to target my BB. We were down to 7 handed play on the final table when he 3 x raised my BB. It folded around to me and I had Jd,10d. We were chatting about the Mark / Bob hand at the time and I then typed in.. "Let's see how you play this hand.." and jammed AI. Mark snapped me off with A,A and I rivered the straight! OUCH! There are three bits of free advice that I have for certain players. No.1 - My chips are of equal value to everyone else's. They are not worth more. No.2 - If you want to target my BB and I discover that you are doing it lightly, then I WILL jam on your raise with a playable hand and if variance bites you on the arse then you have brought it on yourself. No.3 - I currently sit 4th in the NPS Whitehaven league, 4th in the NPS online league and I am the NPS Championship 2011 winner. If you think that I am a mug, then think again.. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $65 going to Mark Atkinson, this being Mark's fourth cash from his last five NPS live / online tournaments. Well played again Mark. 2nd place and the new leader of the NPS online league, Lee Anderson who cashed for $97.50. Lee was a 5/1 underdog at the start of heads-up play but clawed back to take the chip lead by winning three AI preflop races in which he was a 80 / 20 dog. Lee was looking for back-to-back online tournament victories but was unable to repeat the comeback that he did in our previous online league tournament . You almost got me Lee ;) I'm glad your on my side for the Team Championships in December. Our winner, collecting $162.50, Ken Johnston... THE CHAMP IS BACK! Our next online league tournament will be held on TUESDAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2011, 7:30pm start, and will be hosted by BLACK BELT POKER. Please remember to download via this website and send me your new tablename either by text message or email. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 72
  October, 4th, 2011
Winner: LEE ANDERSON AKA anderl39
Results: 1st, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 2nd, Mark Atkinson (bornTOflirt). 3rd, Paul Griffiths (griffyid777). 4th, Paul Lamonby (2LAMCHOP2). 5th, Steven Greig (chappers02). 6th, Andrew Speight (Speighty84). 7th, Kenny Stewart (13kendo13). 8th, Bob Cloudsdale (BubbleCloud). 9th, Mike Hawkins (donquann). 10th, Dave Hall (livinginhope2).
14 players contested our latest online league tournament and we were joined online by Mike Hawkins (donquann) who went on to make the final table in his first NPS online league tournament. Dean Lamonby was absent and both of his main rivals for the league title took advantage and gained points to close the gap on Deano. The race for the right to be crowned NPS Online Champion is as close as ever with only 10 points separating the top three players. There are only 5 online league tournaments to go this year and just like our live tournament leagues, this is going all the way to the wire. 2012 will see some major changes to our online tournaments with the structure being changed to a $7.50 Double Chance event. Black Belt Poker have also awarded us 3 Black Belt Live tournament seats with 1 seat being awarded to the outright league winner in 2012 and the other 2 being awarded to the 2 highest placed Orange Belt holders. There will also be a new scoring system which will result in a more competitive league. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $70 going to Paul Griffiths. 2nd place, Mark Atkinson cashed for $105, with this being Mark's third consecutive cash at an NPS event. Our winner, collecting $175, Lee Anderson, who was extremely short stacked early on and played excellent poker to turn this into a tournament victory. Lee is now only 4 points behind of Bob Cloudsdale and 10 points behind of Dean Lamonby - Is Lee to become our Online Champion 2011? Our next online league tournament will be held on TUESDAY 18TH OCTOBER 2011, 7:30pm start, and will be hosted by BLACK BELT POKER. Please remember to download via this website and send me your new tablename either by text message or email. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 71
  September 20th, 2011
Winner: STUART IRVING AKA doiamuseyou
Results: 1st, Stuart Irving (doiamuseyou). 2nd, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 3rd, Mark Atkinson (bornTOflirt). 4th, Dave Hall (livinginhope2). 5th, Jordan Fleary (JayyDogg). 6th, Paul Griffiths (griffyid777). 7th, Mike Martin (mikeymixitup). 8th, Paul Lamonby (2LAMCHOP2). 9th, Bob Cloudsdale (BubbleCloud). 10th, Nick Birchall (nickjohn1963).
17 players contested our latest online league tournament. The race for the title of Northern Poker Stars Online Player of the Year 2011 continued and Dean Lamonby was back after his absence last week. Deano was back in the points and will have been happy to see one of his main challengers, Lee Anderson fail to make the final table. Lee is now some 24 points behind of Deano but there is still some way to go. Bob Cloudsdale was not going to let Deano have it all his own way and made the final table collecting valuable points to stay in touch with our leader. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $85 going to Mark Atkinson. This was Mark's second cash in two days after collecting £330 in the NPS live tournament at Carlisle on Sunday 18th September. 2nd place, Dean Lamonby cashed for $127.50 and collected 16 valuable points to open up a 13 point gap at the top of the league. Our winner, collecting $212.50, Stuart Irving, who was the short stack when we got down to the final three. Well played Stu. Our next online league tournament will be held on TUESDAY 4TH OCTOBER 2011, 7:30pm start, and will be hosted by BLACK BELT POKER. Please remember to download via this website and send me your new tablename either by text message or email. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 70
  September 6th, 2011
Winner: WILL MACGILLIVRAY AKA TheHulk85
Results: 1st, Will MacGillivray (TheHulk85). 2nd, Chris Glen (joeboots). 3rd, Paul Lamonby (2LAMCHOP2). 4th, Will Wharton (DURA83). 5th, Dan Greenslade (Greenledge). 6th, Stuart Irving (doiamuseyou). 7th, Bob Cloudsdale (BubbleCloud). 8th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 9th, Ken Johnston (NPStars1). 10th, Andrew Speight (Speighty84).
Only 12 players contested our latest online league tournament. It seems that those of you who are out of the running to be crowned NPS Online Player of the Year have already given up? please remember that there is no prize for being crowned our Online Champion. The winner will however receive our fantastic trophy and the bragging rights for 12 months. There is still plenty to play for. We can get together online as a poker club every fortnight and play for the cash, as well as be the player that puts the spanner in the works for Deano being the second Lamonby to be crowned our Champion in two years. Talking about Dean Lamonby, the Boi was absent from this tournament as he was away and will be disappointed to see that both Bob Cloudsdale (Lucky Bob - Rag Ace - Grrrrrrr!) and Lee Anderson made the final table and the points. There are now only eight points between all three trophy places. Hopefully more players will contest the remaining online league tournaments and it will make for an interesting race for the line. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $60 going to Paul Lamonby. 2nd place, Chris Glen cashed for $90 in his first NPS online league tournament for quite some time. Our winner, collecting $150, Will MacGillivray. The Hulk, The Hulk, The Hulk Is On Fire! Our next online league tournament will be held on TUESDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER 2011, 7:30pm start, and will be hosted by BLACK BELT POKER. Please remember to download via this website and send me your new tablename either by text message or email. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 69
  August 19th, 2011
Winner: JORDAN FLEARY AKA JayyDogg
Results: 1st, Jordan Fleary (JayyDogg). 2nd, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 3rd, Ken Johnston (NPStars1). 4th, Stuart Irving (doiamuseyou). 5th, Kevin Orr (hulklogan11). 6th, Bob Cloudsdale (BubbleCloud). 7th, Paul Seath (Paulseath). 8th, Dan Greenslade (Greenledge). 9th, Dan Lewthwaite (BearInDaHouse2). 10th, Paul Griffiths (griffyid777).
15 players contested our latest online league tournament. There was no final table for our current leader, Dean Lamonby, who open shoved with A,K only to run into A,A held by yours truly, in the B.B. The demise of Deano was made worse when the next five players in the league all went on to make the points and the pack is hunting him down. There is now only 13 points covering the top three places, and it is looking increasingly likely that the Northern Poker Stars Online Champion 2011 will be any of Dean Lamonby, Bob Cloudsdale or Lee Anderson - GAME ON! Congratulations to Paul Seath who has collected his first league points on his online debut. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $75 going to Ken Johnston. 2nd place, Lee Anderson cashed for $112.50. Our winner, collecting $187.50, Jordan Fleary. Well played Dude. Your first points of the season, and no better way to get them than with a win. Our next online league tournament will be held on TUESDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER 2011, 7:30pm start, and will be hosted by BLACK BELT POKER. Please remember to download via this website and send me your new tablename either by text message or email. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 68
  August 9th, 2011
Winner: KEN JOHNSTON AKA NPStars1
Results: 1st, Ken Johnston (NPStars1). 2nd, Sean Forsyth (Br4TT). 3rd, Chris Kelly (laneboy1). 4th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 5th, Nick Birchall (nickjohn1963). 6th, Kenny Stewart (13kendo13). 7th, Stuart Irving (doiammuseyou). 8th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 9th, Dan Greenslade (Greenledge). 10th, Bob Cloudsdale (BubbleCloud).
17 players contested our latest online league tournament and our first with Black Belt Poker. The current top three players in the league all made the final table, (by hook or crook - rather unsporting Deano, but if that's how you roll), so these league positions remain the same. Congratulations to Sean Forsyth (Br4TT - very fitting name), who has collected his first league points, some 8 months into the year, although he will be quick to tell you that this is due to him not being a "lucky" player - look at the hand history from last night Dude, when three times I stitched you up like a kipper and managed to get all your chips in, (on your usual push on a draw), only for you to get "L U C K Y." Another player collecting his first points of the year was Dan Greenslade, though to be fair to Dan, this was his first NPS online tournament. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $85 going to Chris Kelly. 2nd place and $172.50 going to Sean Forsyth - L U C K Y Br4TT. Our winner, collecting $212.50, Ken Johnston. The Champ is closing in on the leaders. Be afarid.. Be very afraid.. Deano, I am coming for you. You best get your internet connection sorted so that you're not timing out every hand when we get down to the final table bubble ;) Thanks once again to TT for the chips which consolidated another victory for me. A four figure payout from The NPS Championship and $212.50 from last night, means I will be able to buy a book on poker strategy and hopefully become as great a player as you, rather than relying on my luck! Our next online league tournament will be held on TUESDAY 23RD AUGUST 2011, 7:30pm start, and will be hosted by BLACK BELT POKER. Please remember to download via this website and send me your new tablename either by text message or email. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 67
  July 25th, 2011
Winner: TOM SMITH AKA tjs7290
Results: 1st, Tom Smith (tjs7290). 2nd, Stuart Irving (stu2irv). 3rd, Paul Griffiths (griffyid7). 4th, Chris Irving (marsatta). 5th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 6th, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 7th, Ian Tweedie (JoeBoysnakes). 8th, John Reid (JohnLakes). 9th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 10th, Jimmy Bell (Marraboy1).
15 players contested our latest online league tournament and this was our final online tournament on 888poker before our switch to Black Belt Poker. We will also be moving to a Tuesday evening, (7:30pm start tme) at the request of some of our members that have commitments on a Monday night, so hopefully we will see a rise in the number of runners. Please download Black Belt Poker from one of the many links on this website and inform me of your new tablename. We will also have a private cash table ($0.25/$0.50) on BBP which is password protected. The race for the NPS Online Champion continued, and with the absence of both Lee Anderson and Kevin Orr, the top two both took advantage and made the points. Dean Lamonby is now 20 points clear of Bob Cloudsdale in second place, but one missed final table could change this. I have also moved up into striking distance of the trophy places and after winning the Northern Poker Stars Championship 2011, I have got the taste for trophies and will be looking to add to my tally. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $75 going to Paul Griffiths. 2nd place and $112.50 going to Stuart Irving. Our winner, collecting $187.50, Tom Smith. Well played Tom. Congratulations on your first ever NPS win at our live and online tournaments. This comes on the back of three consecutive online final tables. Our next online league tournament will be held on TUESDAY 9TH AUGUST 2011, 7:30pm start, and will be hosted by BLACK BELT POKER. Please remember to download via this website and send me your new tablename either by text message or email. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 66

Winner: CHRIS KELLY AKA laneboy11
Results: 1st, Chris Kelly (laneboy11). 2nd, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). 3rd, John Richardson (wotsanace). 4th, Stewart Telford (beaverhunt). 5th, Tom Smith (tjs7290). 6th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 7th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 8th, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 9th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 10th, Mark Atkinson (Born2flirt).
18 players contested our latest online league tournament and another new player, Paul Roper, who many of you will know from the APAT league tournaments. I would like to wish Paul the best of luck for our future tournaments. The current leader in the race for the NPS Online Champion, Dean Lamonby was back in the points and his nemesis, Bob Cloudsdale, failed to register a point. I can see this title race going the distance and there are more than the two aforementioned protagonists in the mix. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $90 going to John Richardson. 2nd place and $135 going to Kevin Orr. Our winner, collecting $225, Chris Kelly. Well played Chris, and congratulations on your first ever NPS win at our live and online tournaments. Our next online league tournament will be held on Monday 25th July 2011, 7:30pm start. Later Dudes!

Winner: CHRIS IRVING AKA marsatta
Results: 1st, Chris Irving (marsatta). 2nd, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 3rd, Nick Birchall (nickjohn63). 4th, Luke Cameron (lukecufc11). 5th, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 6th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 7th, Robert Don (thenarld). 8th, Mike Martin (mikey9495). 9th, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). 10th, Tom Smith (tjs7290).
20 players contested our latest online league tournament and I would like to welcome Tom Smith to the fold. Tom is a close friend of Steve McMillan, who has recently taken down a live event at Whitehaven and followed this up by securing his seat in the Northern Poker Stars Championship, by winning one of our online qualifiers. Tom will be hoping to emulate Steve's success and I wish him the best of luck. The young gun made a good start by final tabling in his first ever NPS online tournament. It was the second league game in a row that our current leader Dean Lamonby failed to collect any points and the gap is now down to just 6 points in the race for the title of NPS Online Player of the Year. Deano is now just ahead of his nemesis Bob Cloudsdale who is now up into second place after making back-to-back final tables when Deano failed to register a point. The pressure is now on and the race is far from over with players of the quality of Lee Anderson, Kevin Orr, and Paul Lamonby within touching distance of the leaders. Luke Cameron (lukecufc11) was our bubble but has made back-to-back final tables in his first two online events as well as final tabling at our recent live event in Carlisle. Well played Luke. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $100 going to Nick Birchall. 2nd place and $150 going to Bob Cloudsdale. Our winner, collecting $250, Chris Irving. Well played Chris, that's two cashes in two weeks. The top two chopped the remaining prizepool collecting $200 each. Our next online tournament will be held on Monday 11th July 2011, 7:30pm start, and this will be your FINAL CHANCE to qualify for this years NPS Championship via our online satellites. Win a £200 + £20 seat for a $29 entry. Later Dudes!

Winner: DAVE HALL AKA livingnhope
Results: 1st, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 2nd, Dan Lewthwaite (BearInDHouse). 3rd, Chris Irving (marsatta). 4th, Mike Martin (mikey9495). 5th, Stewart Telford (beaverhunt). 6th, Stuart Irving (stu21irv). 7th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 8th, Luke Cameron (lukecufc11). 9th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 10th, Kevin Orr (hulklogan).
18 players contested our latest online league tournament. May I extend a warm welcome to a new player, Luke Cameron from Carlisle, who went on to make the final table at his first attempt at an NPS online league tournament. Well played. Dean Lamonby failed to make the final table for only the second online league event this year, but still maintains a 22 point lead over Lee Anderson. Lee along with Bob Cloudsdale, Kevin Orr and Stewart Telford all made the final table to keep the pressure on Deano. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $90 going to Chris Irving. 2nd place and $135 going to Dan Lewthwaite. Our winner, collecting $225, Dave Hall. Well played Dave. Our next online league tournament will be held on Monday 4th July 2011, 7:30pm start. Later Dudes!

Winner: MIKE MARTIN AKA mikey9495
Results: 1st, Mike Martin (mikey9495). 2nd, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 3rd, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 4th, Stewart Telford (beaverhunt). 5th, Sophie Marshall (sophiem262). 6th, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 7th, Rob Crone (benjay29). 8th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 9th, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 10th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud).
15 players contested our latest online league tournament. May I extend a warm welcome to a new player, Sophie Marshall from Carlisle, who we are hoping will deal for us at our live Carlisle tournaments. Sophie made the final table on her first attempt at an NPS online league tournament. Well played. Dean Lamonby is now 9/10 final tables and has opened up a 32 point gap at the top of the leaderboard. If he continues his impressive run, then he will be the second Lamonby in succession to lift the title of Northern Poker Stars Online Player of the Year. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $75 going to Paul Lamonby. 1LAMCHOP1 has now hit 6 consecutive final tables and is moving up the leaderboard to challenge for the trophies. 2nd place and $112.50 going to Dean Lamonby. Deano has now had 4 cashes from his 9 final table appearances and that has paid for his NPS online tournaments so far this year. Another great performance, but now the pressure is on as players have to start gambling to halt you from collecting any further points. Our winner, collecting $187.50, Mike Martin - mikey9495 turned the tournament around when he was the short stack with 7 players remaining. Excellent play Mikey. Our next online tournament will be held on Monday 20th June 2011. This will be a Northern Poker Stars Championship Qualifier with one £200 + £20 seat added for every 15 players that enter. It is now just over a month until our Blue Ribband event. Win your seat for a mere $25 + $4. Later Dudes!

Winner: KEN JOHNSTON AKA NPStars
Results: 1st, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 2nd, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 3rd, Mark Atkinson (Born2flirt). 4th, Chris Kelly (laneboy11). 5th, Stuart Irving (stu21irv). 6th, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). 7th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 8th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 9th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 10th, Stewart Telford (beaverhunt).
15 players contested our latest online league tournament. Obviously some of you must have been out celebrating my birthday! With the exception of Chris Kelly (laneboy11), it was the usual suspects that made the final table and the points. Dean Lamonby is now 8/9 final tables and has gained an extra point on his closest rival for the Champions title, Lee Anderson (anderl39). Deano did say that he was going to give me a present for my birthday in this tournament and he certainly did that when I limped into his bb with pocket Aces, only for him to jam with A,8 o/s. Gift wrapped it was Dude. Thank you very much! The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $75 going to Mark Atkinson. Born2flirt is in a rich vein of form and has recently won a seat to the NPS Championship via our online qualifier. He also won the Div 2 APAT league tournament last week as well as taking down the $5k Gtd tournament last Sunday. Excellent play Mark. 2nd place and $112.50 going to Paul Lamonby. 1LAMCHOP1 has now made the last five consecutive final tables in this event and has had three cashes on the spin, finishing first, third and second respectively. Another final table at Nottingham please Dude. Our winner, collecting $187.50, Ken Johnston - WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! Our next online league tournament will be held on Monday 23rd May 2011, 7:30pm start. Later Dudes!

Winner: DEAN LAMONBY AKA dlamonby
Results: 1st, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 2nd, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 3rd, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 4th, Stewart Telford (beaverhunt). 5th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 6th, Gary Hill (bnns69). 7th, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). 8th, Mark Varela (V_Blue). 9th, Mark Atkinson (Born2flirt). 10th, Steven Greig (chappers1984).
Bank Holiday took it's toll on our numbers with 18 players contesting our latest online league tournament. The Monday Club also took it's toll on my game, after spending 6 hours in Weatherspoons my play was not at it's best. I will be addressing both of these problems in the near future. Firstly I will be looking to move our online league tournaments to a Tuesday evening and therefore avoiding Bank Holiday Monday's and secondly I won't be in the Monday Club in Spoons for a while, (6 months to be accurate) after picking up a ban for my antics :-/ Bob Cloudsdale was away cruising the Med, so this was the chance for others to take advantage of the situation. The player that stood to benefit most from Bob's absence was his arch-rival Dean Lamonby. Deano has only failed to make one final table so far this year and that statistic did not change after this event as he went on to win and open up a 25 point lead at the top of the leaderboard. This is the most significant lead this year and I'm sure that Deano will look to maintain this until the Champion is crowned. The top three players cashed with 3rd place and $90 going to Paul Lamonby. 1LAMCHOP1 has now made the last four online league final tables after a disastrous start to the season and he still believes that he has the ability to retain his crown. 2nd place and $135 going to Mike Farrer. mikkyf is another player that made a slow start but has also made the last four final tables, and has cashed in the last three. Our winner, collecting $225, Dean Lamonby thoroughly deserves to be top of the leaderboard after making 8/9 final tables. I have a feeling that The Carlilse Poker Brat is going to take some dislodging. Our next online tournament will be held on Monday 2nd May 2011, 7:30pm start, and this will be our Northern Poker Stars Championship Qualifier with one £200 + £20 seat added to the prizepool for every 15 players that enter. Our Main Event will be held on Sat/Sun 23rd/24th July 2011, so take the opportunity to qualify for this event now for only $25 + $4. There are only three more of these online qualifiers, until the Main Event. Later Dudes!

Winner: PAUL LAMONBY AKA 1LAMCHOP1
Results: 1st, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 2nd, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 3rd, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 4th, Paul Griffiths (griffyid). 5th, Julie Dyer (Gangsta_Rat). 6th, Stuart Irving (stu21irv). 7th, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 8th, Mark Varela (V_Blue). 9th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 10th, Andrew Durkin (Durk1975).
Another 22 players (this seems to be the magic number) contested the latest NPS online league tournament. A warm welcome to two new players - Andrew Durkin (Durk1975) & Richard Eaves (E5VSY). Andrew went on to final table in his first NPS online tournament finishing in 10th place. Dean Lamonby (dlamonby) who has now made 7/8 possible final tables in this years online league tournaments has displaced his arch rival Bob Cloudsdale and once again is sitting pretty (not literally) on top of the Online Leaderboard. Mark Varela (V_Blue) who brought his new aggressive game to the tournament may have been successful in getting several players to lay down hands (me included but he was not getting Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1) off a flopped full house even when he fired at it twice and re-raised Paul's value bet on the river. Paul quickly snapped off Mark's AI shove and we were down to seven. The next victim (and victim was the correct description) was yours truly. I won't go into this because of my friendship with Lee Anderson, but remember that the pen is mightier than the sword and any further bad play's in which I suffer will be highlighted on this website! Stuart Irving (stu21irv) was 6th. Julie Dyer (Gangsta_Rat) was 5th and was too unlucky when coming over the top of Paul Lamonby's UTG raise and going AI. Julie was sitting with the Aces's in the bb position and Lammy eventually called with A,3 making a set of three on the river. He is very apologetic Jules (probably fearing a backlash at the Haven Club in May), and offers the explanation that "it wasn't much more for me to call." With four players left, three were evenly stacked and one. Mike Farrer (mikkyf) was very short-stacked. It seemed nailed on that Mike would be the "bubble", but true to form, the Kamikaze Cockney, Paul Griffiths (griffyid) had a moment and took the title that no-one wants. 3rd place and $110 going to Mike Farrer. The "Vegas Baby" was the winner of our last online league tournament and has now collected $385 from the last two NPS online tournaments. 2nd place and $165 going to Lee Anderson (anderl39). Lee currently sits in third place in the race for the NPS Online POY title. Our winner, collecting $275, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1), who has now made the last three online final tables and will not surrender his title without a fight. Our next online league tournament will be held on Monday 25th April 2011, 7:30pm start. Later Dudes!

Winner: MIKE FARRER AKA mikkyf
Results: 1st, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 2nd, Paul Griffiths (griffyid). 3rd, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 4th, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 5th, Stuart Hoskin (DO_OR_DIEhos). 6th, Mike Martin (mikey9495). 7th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 8th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 9th, Steven Greig (chappers1984). 10th, Stacey Brown Shaw (xstacey4).
22 players contested our latest online league tournament and it was nice to welcome back our longest serving dealer Julie Dyer (gangstrat) and her partner Stuart Hoskin (DO_OR_DIEhos) to our online community. Congratulations to Stacey Brown Shaw who gained her first league points after finishing 10th. Just ahead of Stacey was Thornhill's No.1 Steven "Chappers" Greig, and is determined get into the online trophies this year. Our reigning Champ, Paul Lamonby made his second consecutive final table of year and is now hoping to put a run together which will see him retain his crown. Bob Cloudsdale made yet another final table, making that 6 from 7 events with 4 of those being cashes. Bob is the current leader in the race for the NPS Online Player of the Year 2011. Stuart Hoskin made the final table finishing 5th in his first NPS online league tournament for a number of years. Well played mate. The top three were paid, with 3rd place and $110 going to Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). Like Bob Cloudsdale, Deano has made 6 from 7 final tables in our online league tournaments and sits only five points behind of Bob on the leaderboard, with these two players starting to open up a gap at the top. 2nd place and $165 going to Paul Griffiths (griffyid), which is his second cash this year in our online league tournaments. Our winner, collecting $275, Mike Farrer (mikkyf), who led the tournament from very early and was at the top for most of the tournament. Well played Vegas Baby. Our next online tournament will be held on Monday 7th April 2011, 7:30pm start, and this will be our Northern Poker Stars Championship Qualifier with one £200 + £20 seat added to the prizepool for every 15 players that enter. Winner: JOHN REID AKA JohnLakes
Results: 1st, John Reid (JohnLakes). 2nd, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 3rd, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). 4th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 5th, Dave Wallace (devwal1987). 6th, Stuart Irving (stu21irv). 7th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 8th, Paul Griffiths (griffyid). 9th, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 10th, Mike Farrer (mikkyf).
17 players contested our latest online league tournament. At last our reigning Online Champion has his first points of the year. Be afraid. Be very afraid as 1LAMCHOP1 is coming to get you! Mike Farrer also gained his first points of the year after making the final table. Dean Lamonby failed to make the final table for the first online league tournament this year and although he has now been replaced at the top of the leaderboard by Bob Cloudsdale, I doubt this will have dented his confidence and he will still believe that he can be crowned NPS Online Player of the Year 2011. I must give a mention to Paul Griffiths (griffyid) who took down the $2.5k Gtd on 888poker last week and made the declaration that "even idiots can win tournaments." Well done Griff.. For your accurate statement and your honesty. The top three were paid, with 3rd place and $85 going to Kevin Orr (hulklogan). Yet more cash from a NPS tournament for the young rising star. 2nd place and $127.50 going to Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud), who finished runner-up for the second consecutive online league tournament. This man is certainly getting value for money from the NPS tournaments. Our winner, collecting $212.50, John Reid (JohnLakes), who by his own admission hit everything (usually on the turn and river, chasing gutshots and could not be bet off the pot). Well played John. Griff you are so correct! Our next online tournament will be held on Monday 28th March 2011, 7:30pm start. Later Dudes!

Winner: KEN JOHNSTON AKA NPStars
Results: 1st, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 2nd, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 3rd, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 4th, Steven Greig (Chappers1984). 5th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 6th, Stuart Irving (stu21irv). 7th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 8th, John Richardson (wotsanace). 9th, Kenny Stewart (13kendo13). 10th, Sam Guy (samguy75).
22 players contested our latest online league tournament and for the second time this year, our reigning online champion, Paul Lamonby was the first player out. He arrived late and went home early. That is the handicap off now 1LAMCHOP1.. Time to start getting points. The quote of the day was made by Chris "Moylesy" Cowley when involved in a hand with myself and Paul Lamonby. He called the 3x bb raise with 3,8 o/s and ended up chopping the pot with myself after I flopped the straight and he called my flop bet chasing the straight. Chris educated us with the following pearls of wisdom, "To beat idiots, you have to play like an idiot." Chris went on to finish 12th, and my advice to him is, "Play like an idiot and become an idiot!" Welcome to Sam Guy, who may be a novice, but certainly not an idiot who made the final table in his first ever NPS online tournament. I say he is not an idiot, because he watched the tournament to completion so that he could observe the styles of the remaining players. Well done Sam. Kenny Stewart and John Richardson got their first points of the year, as did our winner. Everyone else has made at least one final table this year. Dean Lamonby, who now believes that he is the NPS Online Player of the Year 2011, has made every online final table in 2011. I have got some news for you Deano, the league is not over until December. Obviously premature ejaculation is something that you suffer from. I remember you also predicting that you would be the NPS Live Tournament Player of the Year 2011 in both Carlisle and Whitehaven, but I don't see your name on either leaderboard, obviously because you have NO POINTS! The top three were paid, with 3rd place and $110 going to Dave Hall (livingnhope). 2nd place and $165 going to Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud), and this was topped up by taking $450 for his 5th place finish in the $5k gtd on the same night. Our well deserved winner, collecting $275, Ken Johnston (NPStars), who totally decimated the field by taking out 11 players, with 7 of these being on the final table. Obviously not an idiot then Moylesy? Our next online tournament will be held on Monday 7th March 2011, 7:30pm start, and this will be our Northern Poker Stars Championship Qualifier with one £200 + £20 seat added to the prizepool for every 15 players that enter. Results: 1st, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). 2nd, Steven Greig (chappers1984). 3rd, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 4th, Frazer Ross (MRBUSTOP). 5th, Chris Glen (chrisboots). 6th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 7th, Mike Martin (mikey9495). 8th, Stuart Irving (stu21irv). 9th, Brian Earle (duke8978). 10th, Stewart Telford (beaverhunt).
22 players contested this Northern Poker Stars online league tournament, our fourth of 2011 and we now have two players that still have a 100% success rate in making the final table. The two players are Dean Lamonby (dlamonby) and Frazer Ross (MRBUSTOP). Deano threw the gauntlet down at the beginning of the year by declaring himself Champion-in waiting for our online and live Carlisle and West Cumbria Player of the Year titles. He has made an excellent start online but is yet to register any points live. Sort it out you "scrawny kid." The top three were paid, with 3rd place and $110 going to Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 2nd place and $165 going to Steven Greig (chappers1984). Our winner, collecting $275, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). As earlier mentioned, we have had four online league tournaments so far this year and Kevin has won three of them. His total cashes in Northern Poker Stars online league tournaments in 2011 so far have been $800 for a total stake of $108. He has also featured on every live final table so far this year at both Carlisle and West Cumbria and has collected £640 for a total stake of £171. When is his bubble going to burst? I did tip him to do well this year and he couldn't have wished for a better start. Excellent play Kevin. Our next online league tournament will be held on Monday 28th February 2011, 7:30pm start. Results: 1st, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). 2nd, Dave Wallace (devwal1987). 3rd, Paul Griffiths (griffyid). 4th, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 5th, Mike Martin (mikey9495). 6th, Frazer Ross (MRBUSTOP). 7th, Steven Greig (chappers1984). 8th, Gary Hill (bnns69). 9th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 10th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby).
22 players contested our latest online league tournament. Three events into the season and still no final table for yours truly. Still no final table for Mark Varela (NPS Tournament Director) and still no final table for Paul Lamonby (NPS Tournament Director). There is hope though. Week 1 - 1LAMCHOP1 (our current NPS Online Champion) finished last. Week 2 - 1LAMCHOP1 was our penultimate player and Week 3 - 1LAMCHOP1 was our antepenultimate player. If this trend continues, it will take approximately 9 more online tournaments, (based on the number of runners in tonight's event), for The Champ will post his first points. There are however some very consistent players who have made the final table in the first three online tournaments of the year. They are "the scrawny kid from Carlisle," - Dean Lamonby, Frazer Ross and Lee Anderson. These three are starting to open up a gap between themselves and the rest of the field. Well played all three of you. A warm welcome to Dave Wallace, a new online player with NPS, who in his first tournament made the final table and finished runner-up collecting a $137.50 profit on his first tournament entry fee. Please tell Deano about the "value for money" that you got in this tournament? The top three were paid, with 3rd place and $110 going to Paul Griffiths (griffyid). 2nd place and $165 going to Dave Wallace (devwal1987). Our winner, collecting $275, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). That is Kevin's second online league tournament win out of the first three online events in 2011. Well played Kevin. Monday 7th February 2011, 7:30pm start, will be an online qualifier for the Northern Poker Stars Championship event. One £200 + £20 seat added for every 15 players that enter. Later Dudes!

Results: 1st, Frazer Ross (MRBUSTOP). 2nd, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 3rd, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 4th, Chris Cowley (Kyte85). 5th, Stewart Telford (beaverhunt). 6th, Will MacGillivray (will_mac1985). 7th, Chris Glen (chrisboots). 8th, Michael Cox (coxi999). 9th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 10th, Lee Anderson (anderl39).
Nice to see the numbers back up! 30 players contested our second league tournament of the year giving us a total prizepool of $750 - Not bad for a school night. Once again our current reigning Champion (1LAMCHOP1) went out very early, but as he has been quick to point out, he failed to final table in the first two online league tournaments last year and yet went on to win. 5 players that made the final table in the first online league tournament of this year also featured on this final table. Well played, Lee Anderson (anderl39), Dean Lamonby (dlamonby), Stewart Telford (beaverhunt), Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud), and Frazer Ross (MRBUSTOP). A warm welcome to Michael Cox, who has just joined Northern Poker Stars and made the elite ten in his first online league tournament. I look forward to meeting you at the live events and hope that you can perform as well there. The top three were paid, with 3rd place and $150 going to Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud) - yet more money to add to the thousands of dollars that you have won on 888poker over the past months. 2nd place and $225 going to Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). Brian will be looking to improve on his third place finish in our online league in both 2010 and 2009. Our winner, collecting $375, Frazer Ross (MRBUSTOP). It has been a good week for Frazer who also took down a Omaha tournament (95 runners) on 888poker on Tuesday 18th January 2011. Well played Frazer! The next NPS online league tournament will be on Monday 31st January 2011, 7:30pm start. Later Dudes!

Results: 1st, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). 2nd, Stuart Irving (stu21irv). 3rd, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 4th, Brian Earle (duke8978). 5th, Stewart Telford (beaverhunt). 6th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 7th, Frazer Ross (MRBUSTOP). 8th, Steve Blythe (STEBLYTHE). 9th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 10th, Dee Johnstone (deadlydee).
20 players contested our first online league tournament of 2011 and you couldn't write the script.. The first player out was the Northern Poker Stars Online Player of the Year 2010, Paul Lamonby. A man who last year made final tables in 60% of the online league tournaments that he entered. A man that finished 1st in 25% of these online league tournaments where he reached the final table. As 1LAMCHOP1 will undoubtedly say.. "Thats the handicap off!" The final table consisted of the usual suspects in Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud), Steve Blythe (STEBLTYHE) and Lee Anderson (anderl39). Brian Earle (duke8978) under a new tablename was back after a long absence and finished on the "bubble." The top three were paid, with 3rd place and $100 going to Dean Lamonby (dlamonby) - it's nice to see some of the fringe players getting value from these tournaments.. It keeps them interested ;-) 2nd place and $150 going to Stuart Irving (stu21irv). It will be interesting to see if it's Stuart or Chris Irving and Paul or Dean Lamonby that has bragging rights as being the better sibling come the end of 2011. Our winner, collecting $250, Kevin Orr (hulklogan). As I said in my report from the first live event of 2011 @ The Haven Club, I expect this to be a good year for Kevin. Well played Dude. The next NPS online league tournament will be on Monday 17th January 2011, 7:30pm start. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 52
  December 15th, 2010
Winner: PAUL LAMONBY AKA 1LAMCHOP1 (NORTHERN POKER STARS ONLINE PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2010)
Results: 1st, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 2nd, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 3rd, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 4th, David Pike (pikey3). 5th, Andrew Speight (aspeight). 6th, Joanne Marshall (ladette1984). 7th, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 8th, Paul Farrell (paddymcginty). 9th, Dee Johnstone (deadlydee). 10th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby).
21 players contested our final online league tournament of the year. This was a straight shoot-out for the title of NPS Online Player of the Year, between Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud) and Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). Paul held a 10 point lead over Bob going into this tournament. The task for Bob was simple. Make the final table and hope that Paul does not. With two players out, yours truly raised UTG with A,K. For the third time since play commenced, Bob (UTG+1) applied the squeeze, coming over the top of me and going all-in. It is a trait of my play that I will make a stance on being raised by an individual player and I will push all-in, the third time the said individual makes this play. I called Bob (A,Q) and I hit my K on the flop with Bob hitting his Q on the river. I had Bob covered and he was out. It was all over. It took until our final online league tournament to decide our Champion, but what a worth winner. Paul Lamonby with 15 / 25 final tables and 5 of these tournament victories, both stats greater than any other player this year. Well played Dude. That's a nice double whisky that you owe me! With this out of the way, Bob had a vested interest in the positional finish of Dean Lamonby. I remind you of their personal duel. Deano boldly stated that he would be crowned NPS Online Player of the Year 2010. Bob stated that he would not and that Deano would finish behind of Bob in the league. The bet was £30 plus £1 per point differential, to be paid at the NPS Presentation Day. Bob held a lead of 58 points (£88) going into this final event. Deano managed to scrape 10th place in our final online league tournament and has finished 46 points behind of Bob - a total of £76 owed to the Whitehaven player. Deano not afraid to make bold and sometimes rash declarations, was almost correct. Our Champion was a Lamonby, but it was his brother and not him! Lee Anderson made a sixth consecutive online league final table, which is the best streak of any player this year. Excellent play again Lee. You too fell foul of my "raise me three times and I am all-in" stance, but finished in 3rd place collecting $105. 2nd place, Ken Johnston, for a second consecutive online tournament - $157.50. Our winner and our Champion.. PAUL LAMONBY - $262.50. FANTASTIC POKER ALL YEAR. A WORTHY CHAMPION. Our next online tournament will be on Monday 20th December, 7:30pm. This will be a Northern Poker Stars Championship Qualifier. One £220 seat added for every 15 players that enter. Win your seat for only $29. If the numbers are low, then this will be the final time that I hold an online qualifier for this event, meaning that you will have to buy-in direct for £220. Hopefully I will see you all at the tables next Monday. Later Dudes!

Winner: STEVE BLYTHE AKA STEBLYTHE
Results: 1st, Steve Blythe (STEBLYTHE). 2nd, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 3rd, Mike Martin (mikey9495). 4th, Walter McFarland (macky218). 5th, Dee Johnstone (deadlydee). 6th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 7th, Will MacGillivray (will_mac1985). 8th, Steven Greig (chappers1984). 9th, Stewart Telford (beaverhunt). 10th, Paul Griffiths (griffyid).
22 players contested our penultimate online league tournament of the year. Mike Farrer put money on me being the first player out.. Cheers Dude.. Unfortunately for him, I wasn't. That honour went to the usually very solid Johnny Stedman. I could have been the next casualty as I slow rolled a set of Jacks on the flop against David Pike. I check-called his bet on the flop. He made a full house on the turn (another check-call by me) when a 3 gave him a set and fortunately for me, very unfortunately for pikey3 I made a full house on the river. It was a hand that neither of us could get away from and my river bet was reraised AI, by pikey3. Mike Farrer was our next casualty and will be handing money over to my mate Paul Lamonby, who gave Mike odds of 20-1 that I would not be the first casualty. Thanks for the faith Lammy. Then we saw a twist in the race for the Player of the Year title. Our leader, Paul Lamonby went out in 19th, followed by the player sitting in third place, Brian Heywood. It was all looking very rosy for Bob Cloudsdale, who was sitting with a healthy stack and only had to make the final table to depose Lammy at the top. 17th, Paul Farrell.. 16th.. BOB CLOUDSDALE!.. Disaster for Bob after reraising my sb limp, from the bb. I hit an ace on the flop and check-called his continuation bets on the flop and turn. I bet out on the river and Bob called. His stack was decimated and he was only left with a shove / fold stack. Soon after he was out. That meant that everything stay's as it is with only one event remaining. Lammy has a 10 point lead over Bob, in a now two-horse race, and if Lammy makes the final table, then it is all over. The final table was graced with Lee Anderson for the fifth consecutive online league event. Lee will be hoping to carry that form into our live event this coming Sunday @ The Haven Club, Hensingham. The top three cashed.. 3rd, Mike (2, 3 o/s) Martin - $110. 2nd, Ken Johnston - $165. Our winner for the second consecutive online league tournament, Steve Blythe - $275. Well played Steve. Next Monday, 6th December will be the NPS $500 Freeroll, for those that have qualified. Don't be surprised if this is the last freeroll that we are awarded. I have given you all sufficient warnings about the numbers of players contesting our online league tournaments and the need to get new players signed up to 888poker via the Northern Poker Stars website. Final word.. Good Luck to Bob and Lammy in our final online league tournament on Monday 13th December. Either of you will be a worthy champion.. May the best man win. Later Dudes!

Winner: STEVE BLYTHE AKA STEBLYTHE
Results: 1st, Steve Blythe (STEBLYTHE). 2nd, Jeff Cass (Obstinate). 3rd, Stacey Brown (xstacey4). 4th, Steven Greig (chappers1984). 5th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 6th, Chris Irving (rpr888). 7th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 8th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 9th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 10th, Mike Martin (mikey9495).
22 players contested our latest online tournament and may I give a very warm welcome to Stuart Gash (gashmanwins) who has joined us to play our online tournaments. Hopefully he will come along to our live games too. Bob Cloudsdale had the great pleasure of knocking Dean Lamonby out and then going on to final table meaning he has opened up the gap again and now stands £88 ahead of Deano with two tournaments left to play. Bob will be hoping for a dual presentation at the Team Championships on Saturday 18th December. I know which one he will take greatest pleasure from! It was looking very doubtful that Paul Lamonby would be picking up any points from this tournament, but he got there by the skin of his teeth ensuring that he would remain ahead of Bob in the race to be crowned NPS Online Player nof the Year. Mike Martin was our first casualty on the final table, but raising me from the sb with 3, 2 o/s then I have no sympathy for you. I can't wait to exact my revenge. NB. I am coming for you! The current leader bit the dust in 9th place, followed by Brian Heywood who is also in the mix for the title. Bob was out in 7th place much to the relief of Lammy who has a ten point lead with two events to go. Chris Irving playing his first NPS online tournament was our 6th place finisher, followed by a man that has been running very hot lately, Lee Anderson. The bubble award went to Steven Greig, meaning Stacey Brown is officially Thornhill's No. 1 who played very well and collected $115 for 3rd place. That will buy a few bits for your expected child. Warm wishes Stacey. Our runner-up who has now moved off the bottom of the online league, Jeff Cass who was unlucky to get pocket 9's busted by A, 6 o/s (all-in pre-flop), but the $172.50 Blondie collected will soften the blow. Our winner and No.1 Blythe (Who's The Daddy?) Steve Blythe who cashed for $287.50. Well played Steve. Monday 22nd November will be a Northern Poker Stars Championship Qualifier with one £200 + £20 seat added tyo the prizepool for every 15 players that enter. six seats have now been won for the "Big One". We only have eight online qualifiers left for this event. The choice is simple... Win a seat via the qualifier for $25 + $4 or pay £200 + £20 to enter. Later Dudes!

Winner: PAUL LAMONBY AKA 1LAMCHOP1
Results: 1st, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 2nd, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 3rd, Mike Martin (mikey9495). 4th, John Richardson (wotsanace). 5th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 6th, Joanne Marshall (ladette1984). 7th, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 8th, Johnny Stedman (johnnycoot). 9th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 10th, Ken Johnston (NPStars).
14 players contested our latest online league tournament. The field would have been bigger, but as I fully expected the start time was incorect as 888 couldn't grasp that we had moved out of BST. I was assured that the start time would be 7:30pm but glad I didn't put my house on it. Sean Dixon failed to make a sixth consecutive final table, but that's perhaps down to the fact that he was one of the early start casualties. The top two in the race for the NPS Online Player of the Year title made the final table but Bob Cloudsdale went out in 9th place, meaning that Paul Lamonby was going to extend his lead at the top. More worrying for Bob, was the fact that Dean Lamonby was still in and would close the gap in their personal duel. The top three cashed. 3rd, Mike Martin (mikey9495) - $70. 2nd, Lee Anderson (anderl39) - cashing for a second consecutive NPS online league tournament to the sum of $105. Our winner and current leader, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1) - also cashing for a second consecutive NPS online league tournament (as well as the two freeroll that we had in October - Cheers Dude!) to the sum of $175. Next week is our monthly NPS $500 Freeroll. Hopefully it will be at the usual start time. I will send out the password at the weekend. Later Dudes!

Winner: MARK ATKINSON AKA Born2flirt
Results: 1st, Mark Atkinson (Born2flirt). 2nd, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 3rd, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 4th, Stuart Irving (stu21irv). 5th, Sean Dixon (SeanDixon). 6th, Mike Martin (mikey9495). 7th, Gary Hill (bnns69). 8th, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 9th, Paul Griffiths (griffyid). 10th, Steve Blythe (STEBLYTHE).
Well that was the longest NPS Online Tournament EVER! It started @ 7:30pm on Monday 18th October and finished @ 11:15pm on Wednesday 27th October. Ok it was not a continuous event. When the 888poker site crashed on Monday 18th October, we were down to the final 8 players in our fortnightly league event. The prizepool was divided between the top three players that night, although it was purely down to which players were the last to be blinded out as reconnection to the site was impossible. This left me with something of a headache as I could not award points based on what had happened that night. It is very close at the top of the leaderboard and would have been unfair of me to award Paul Lamonby the maximum points as he was the "winner" on the night. I approached 888poker and they agreed to set up a tournament for the 8 players that were remaining when the outage occurred. This was a free to enter tournament for the 8 players concerned and 888poker added another $475 to this prizepool. You have got to give credit to this site. All players that were using 888poker at the time of the outage were refunded their entry fee's and given a 50% bonus. The original prizepool was paid out on the night and then they add another $475 to the re-run of the final table. I wonder how many other poker rooms would be as generous? Also remember that every month they reward NPS players with a $500 freeroll exclusive to our memebers that have played any of the NPS online tournament's during that month. I doubt there is a better poker room out there. 888poker are currently running a promotion where you can gain entry to a £10k freeroll each week, just by playing 10 sng's (6 handedand above and with a buy-in of over $1). This is a gift horse - don't look it in the mouth. Back to the results.. Sean Dixon has set a new record for consecutive final tables, appearing in the last five NPS $25 F.O. final tables. Well played Sean. Mark Atkinson single handedly took apart the field last night and at one stage it looked like Stuart Irving would cash (even though he was registered and not playing), as Mark knocked out player after player. The payout; 3rd, Lee Anderson (anderl39) - $95. 2nd, (And the new leader in the race for the NPS Online Player of the Year) Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1) - $142.50 and our winner, Mark Atkinson (Born2flirt) - $237.50. Excellent play Mark. You certainly showed how to play a big stack and dominated the table from the early stages. A combination of aggressive play and a sprinkling of luck at times, but in general a well deserved victory. To finish, this tournament has cost none of the players anything to enter, and in fact you have all in reality been paid $14 to enter. 19 players gave us a prizepool of $475 and this was paid out twice thanks to the generosity of 888poker, so $950 for a tournament that you have all been paid $14 to enter. On top of this, you are all eligible for the monthly $500 freeroll. My advice to you all is to start taking full advantage of the generosity of 888poker. Tournaments where you can win 3D laptops, iPads and seats to the $50k Gtd for a 8 cent entry fee! Tournamets where you can win casino trips to Prague, Monte Carlo and Las Vegas for $1.. Need I say anymore? Our next online tournament is on Monday 1st November. This is our $25 F.O. event. Password is league. All participants will be eligible for the NPS $500 Freeroll the week after. Later Dudes!

Winner: BRIAN HEYWOOD AKA Bri_uk
Results: 1st, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 2nd, Paul Robson (moncojoe01). 3rd, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 4th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 5th, Mark Atkinson (Born2flirt). 6th, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 7th, Sean Dixon (SeanDixon). 8th, Mark Varela (V_Blue). 9th, Jordan Fleary (MC_lazy_1). 10th, John Richardson (wotsanace).
19 players contested our latest online tournament which turned out to be a bad night for the Lambo's (Deano and Paul Lamonby). Deano fell further behind Bob Cloudsdale in their personal duel. Deano is now 45 points (£75) behind Bob with only 5 league events remaining. The chances of him catching Bob are very slim considering the number of runners we are getting now. Paul was knocked off top spot after a short spell in the lead. He is now 14 points behind but still in with a great shout of being crowned our Online Champion. He needs to be careful as Brian Heywood is sneaking up on the rails. Congratulations to the form player, Sean Dixon for making a 4th consecutive final table. The top three players cashed; 3rd, Bob Cloudsdale ($95). 2nd, Paul Robson, who picked up his first points of the year ($142.50). Our winner, Brian Heywood ($237.50). Well played Brian. Next week is our $1000 Freeroll. I will send the password out to those that have qualified. Later Dudes!

Winner: STEVE BLYTHE AKA STEBLYTHE
Results: 1st, Steve Blythe (STEBLYTHE). 2nd, Sean Dixon (SeanDixon). 3rd, Stewart Telford (beaverhunt). 4th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 5th, Andrew Speight (aspeight). 6th, Chris Glen (chrisboots). 7th, Ian Arnold (10arny10). 8th, Johnny Stedman (johnnycoot). 9th, Joanne Marshall (ladette1984). 10th, Jeff Cass (obstinate).
17 players contested this NPS Online League Tournament. With Bob Cloudsdale failing to get under starters orders, the opportunity was there for Mr. Lamonby (Paul not Deano to extend widen the gap of three points that he currently hold over Bob at the top of the leaderboard. Unfortunately for Paul he failed to make the final table and the race for the Player of the Year title remains tight. The opportunity was also there for Mr. Lamonby (Deano not Paul) to claw back some of the cash that he is down to Bob. This one of the Lamonby brothers was successful and managed to pull back £14 on Bob. With only 6 league events remaining, Deano is currently 28 points (£58) behind Bob. Tight, Tight, Very Tight! 9 months into the Online Championship and I am VERY surprised to see; Jeff Cass, Chris Glen and Andrew Speight collecting their first league points. These players are usually at the business end of the league, contesting the trophies. Ian "Boom Boom" Arnold continues to make final table after final table. He has played 15 of these league events and has made 10 final tables. That is by far the best win ratio. If only he hadn't waited until March to start playing these events. Another man in hot form and three final tables from the last three events is Johnny Stedman. The top three were paid out. 3rd, Stewart Telford - $85. 2nd, Sean Dixon (another man running good with three final tables from the past three league events, with one being a win and one runner-up) - $127.50. Our winner Steve Blythe - $212.50. Well played Steve. Lets see what twists and turns await us when we contest our next league event on Monday 4th October, 7:30pm. Later Dudes!

Results: 1st, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 2nd, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 3rd, Anne Weatherstone (vw78beetle). 4th, Chris Kelly (laneboy11). 5th, Will MacGillivray (will_mac1985). 6th, Ian Arnold (10arny10). 7th, Dee Johnstone (deadlydee). 8th, Sean Dixon (SeanDixon). 9th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 10th, Johnny Stedman (johnnycoot).
15 players contested this online league tournament. I was about 12,000 ft up Mt. Kiimanjaro at the time, so I cannot add much to the report. The only thing that Paul sent me through was this; "Deano got taught a lesson in heads-up play!" The payout for the top three was; 3rd, Anne Weatherstone $75. 2nd, Dean Lamonby $112.50 (at last - value for money!). 1st, Paul Lamonby, $187.50. our next online league tournament will be held on Monday 20th September 2010 @ 7:30pm. Winner: SEAN DIXON AKA SeanDixon
Results: 1st, Sean Dixon (Sean Dixon). 2nd, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 3rd, Kenny Stewart (13kendo13). 4th, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 5th, Sean Forsyth (K5ssy). 6th, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 7th, Ian Arnold (10arny10). 8th, Johnny Stedman (johnnycoot). 9th, Mike Martin (mikey9495). 10th, Steven Greig (chappers1984).
17 players contested our latest online tournament. With the early exit of Dean Lamonby and Brian Heywood, the opportunity was there for Bob Cloudsdale to extend his lead in his personal duel with Dean and to open up the gap between himself and Brian in the race for the NPS Online Player of the Year crown. Unfortunately for Bob, he went out in 11th place just missing out on the points. Nice to have Mike Martin back from Iraq and he made the final table in this online tournament as well as in our last live tournament. Sean Forsyth picked up his first online points of the year, although he was very lucky at times! My usual run of bad luck continues as our debutant Kenny Stewart sucked out on me on a couple of occasions, with some very questionable calls. Mike will have to give you some pointers Kenny. In the money were Kenny Stewart in 3rd collecting $85. 2nd place was Paul Lamonby collecting $127.50. Paul is now hot on the heels of our leader, Bob Cloudsdale, so it looks like a Lamonby may yet be crowned our online champion, though not the one that declared himself the champ-in -waiting! Our winner collecting $212.50 was Sean Dixon. You played some excellent poker Sean. Well done. Our next online tournament will be on Monday 30th August, 7:30pm. This will be the Northern Poker Stars Championship Qualifier. Later Dudes!

Winner: TONY TOMLINSON AKA TommOUK
Results: 1st, Tony Tomlinson (TommOUK). 2nd, Ian Arnold (10Arny10). 3rd, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 4th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 5th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 6th, Mark Atkinson (Born2flirt). 7th, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 8th, Jordan Fleary (MC_lazy_1). 9th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 10th, Dave Hall (livingnhope).
Only 14 players contested our latest league tournament. I need to warn you that the deal that 888poker offered us for the NPS $500 Freeroll was dependent upon a minimum of 20 players contesting the NPS $25 F.O. league tournaments. We have had less than 20 players in 4 of the last 6 of these tournaments. You are going to lose this FREE money exclusive to NPS players which is $6000 (approx £4000 in real cash) per year. I am bewildered by the players at times! The top three players all cashed, with Dean Lamonby finishing in 3rd place and collecting $70. This is only the second time that Deano has cashed this year from 16 league tournaments, so I'm sure he will be asking is a ratio of 1 in 8 "value for money". Only his train of thought knows the answer to that question, but the general consensus is that no tournament is good value for money if you don't cash. 2nd place and $105 went to Ian Arnold, a man that has had plenty of value for his money from NPS tournaments, but then again he knows how to make it to a final table and then to go on and finish in the money. Our winner, and $175 Tony Tomlinson, another man that has had plenty of value from NPS tournaments, previously winning a GUKPT Main Event seat (worth £1060) and a Northern Poker Stars Championship seat (worth £220). Our next online tournament will be on Monday 16th August, 7:30pm. This will be the NPS $500 Freeroll (get it whilst you can). This event is password protected and restricted to players that have contested any of the last three NPS online tournaments. I will inform those players of the password. Any player that then gives this password to an ineligible player will find themselves excluded from any potential future NPS $500 Freeroll events. Later Dudes!

Winner: MIKE FARRER AKA mikkyf
Results: 1st, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 2nd, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 3rd, Jordan Fleary (MC_lazy_1). 4th, Ian Tweedie (JOEBOYZZ). 5th, Steve Blythe (STEBLYTHE). 6th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 7th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 8th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 9th, Joanne Marshall (ladette1984). 10th, Chris Kelly (laneboy11).
18 players contested our latest online league tournament. With our current leader Bob Cloudsdale failing to make the final table for the second league tournament in a row, the window of opportunity was open for others to catch up with him. One player that has made significant moves, is Dean Lamonby, making his fifth consecutive final table. This is also the most final table appearances to date, an accolade he shares with Paul Lamonby, Brian Heywood, and Bob Cloudsdale. The Bubbleboy / Deano challenge now stand £85 in Bob's favour (55 points @ £1 per point and a £30 entry to a live NPS event). Chris Kelly was back on the final table, his first since week 2 of the season. It was a first final table appearance in our online league tournaments for Joanne Marshall (a young lady in great form after a recent big win @ Blackpool's G Casino) and also a first final table for the very dangerous Ian Tweedie. Ian set about in his usual manner, amassing a huge chipstack and combining aggression with luck to make it to the final stages. JOEBOYZZ then targeted yours truly and I eventually sent him out on the bubble. Well played again Ian. Jordan Fleary made a second consecutive final table and went out in 3rd place with $90. I was runner-up for $135 and our winner Mike Farrer collected $225 only a week after taking down the NPS $500 Freeroll. Excellent play Vegas Baby! Our next online tournament will be the Northern Poker Stars Championship Qualifier on Monday 2nd August. Later Dudes!

21 players contested the NPS online tournament on our return from Vegas. Three of the Vegas crew used their experience of playing in the Mecca of Poker to make the final table.. Ian Arnold, Mike Farrer and myself. With Bob Cloudsdale failing to make the final table, this was the opportunity for Dean Lamonby to close the gap in their personal duel, which he did by making his fourth consecutive NPS Online League final table. Well done Deano. Looks like you have got your game together at last. Walter McFarland made his first NPS online final table finishing in 5th place. Mark Varela (V_Blue) was the bubble after battling away for an age with the short stack. A gallant effort Dude, but I got you in the end! In the money were; 3rd, Ken Johnston (NPStars) - $105. 2nd, Mike Farrer (mikkyf) - $157.50. 1st, Steven Greig (chappers1984) $262.50 Excellent play Chappers!   20 players contested our latest online league tournament and the usual suspects made the final table. Dean Lamonby managed to keep within sight of Bob Cloudsdale in their personal duel, although as things stand, Bob is £108 up. Jonny Gawith who always seems to be playing tournaments on 888poker everytime I log on continued his impressive run of final table appearances, with four from the last four online tournaments. It was a second NPS final table in two days for Neil Wedgewood, but this one didn't carry quite the same prestige as the Championship final table. My good mate, Bob Cloudsdale continues to lead the way in the race for the NPS Online Player of the Year. Bob has led the way since the 25th January, and he hopes to still be in front after the final league tournament of this year on the 13th December. One of my fellow Kilimanjaro climber, Richard Jackson, makes another final table. Jacko works offshore and therefore cannot play as many of the events as he would like to, but always does well whenever he is available. Lee Anderson makes a second consecutive final table. Mark Atkinson, was our bubble, but I have been informed that the final four agreed to pay the bubble $20 each. Mark was the chip leader when this deal was struck and obviously benefitted from the deal. Carlisle's current No1 live tournament player , Johnny Stedman proves that he is no mug online, finishing 3rd and collecting $100. Ian Arnold, who was down to just over 800 chips very early on in this event, made a remarkable recovery and finished in 2nd place, collecting $150. Our winner, Paul Lamonby, our Carlisle TD collected $250 and has moved up to 4th place on the leaderboard. Well played Lammy. Next week is our $500 freeroll and the following week will be our next league tournament. I shall be in Vegas that week, along with Messy Arnold (BOOOOOOM!) so there will be no text reminder form myself. By now you should all know the password (league). Monday 5th July will be the first qualifier for the Northern Poker Stars Championship 2011. After the huge success of this years event, many players have asked me to continue running the $25 + $4 online satellites. Once again the Carlisle players have dominated the final table at the NPS online tournaments. Once again, I challenge you to show this form at the live events, and especially at the Lion's Den, The Haven Club. Later Dudes!

Winner: DAVE HALL AKA livingnhope
Results: 1st, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 2nd, Jonny Gawith (Haldan29). 3rd, Ian Arnold (10Arny10). 4th, Mark Varela (V_Blue). 5th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 6th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 7th, Jordan Fleary (MC_lazy_1). 8th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 9th, Neil Wedgewood (wedgywoo). 10th, Lee Anderson (anderl39).
19 players contested this our latest online league tournament. the numbers would have been higher, if 888poker had listed the event in the lobby earlier, rather than leaving it to the last minute. I suspect that some players were still celebrating the bank holiday weekend and others, like myself, were probably still nursing the hangover from the previous day. Jordan Fleary made his first online league final table, as did our man from the South, Mark Varela, who was the bubble, after allowing Ian Arnold to hit a straight on the river. The top three were paid out. 3rd, Ian Arnold, ($95), would surely been in the top three if he had started playing online with us from the beginning of the year. 2nd, Jonny Gawith, ($142.50) who is now only 5 points off the lead in the race for the NPS Online Player of the Year. Our winner, Dave Hall, ($237.50). Excellent play Dave. This is your third online league victory this year. Once again, all the money goes to Carlisle. Next Monday is the last chance to win a seat at the Northern Poker Stars Championship. $29 Freezeout and one £220 seat added for every 15 players that enter. The tournament is already in the lobby and registration is open from 19:30hrs on Friday 4th June. Later Dudes!

Winner: PAUL GRIFFITHS AKA griffyid
Results: 1st, Paul Griffiths (griffyid). 2nd, Steven Holt (directorcufc). 3rd, Sean Dixon (SeanDixon). 4th, Nick Birchall (nickjohn63). 5th, Will MacGillivray (will_mac1985). 6th, Shane Padley (jackpad3). 7th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 8th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 9th, Jonny Gawith (Haldan29). 10th, John Richardson (wotsanace).
28 players contested our latest league tournament and once again the winner was from Carlisle. John "The Turtle" Richardson collected his first online league points of the year, as did Steven Holt, and our current form player, Will "The Hulk" MacGillivray. Another final table for Jonny Gawith means that he now sits in second place in the race for the Northern Poker Stars Online Player of the Year. The gap between himself and our current leader, Bob Cloudsdale is now down to eight points. Another scoring final table has taken our Carlisle TD, Paul Lamonby up into 4th place and he is right in the mix. There was $700 in the prizepool and this was shared between: Sean Dixon ($140 for 3rd place), Steven Holt ($210 for 2nd place), and our winner Paul Griffiths collected $350. Our next online tournament will be on Monday 24th May @ 7:30pm. This will be the NPS $500 Freeroll. Just to give you an update on the Bubbleboy / Deano Challenge. With no points being won by either player tonight, Bob is currently £102 up. Later Dudes!

Winner: JONNY GAWITH AKA Haldan29
Results: 1st, Jonny Gawith (Haldan29). 2nd, Mark Heavey (rebz1). 3rd, Ian Arnold (10arny10). 4th, Grant Holt (prolific1in2). 5th, Paul Christian (fletch2309). 6th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 7th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 8th, Michael Martin (mikey9495). 9th, Sean Dixon (SeanDixon). 10th, Neil Wedgewood (wedgywoo).
26 players contested our latest league tournament. Once again the final table was dominated by Carlisle players. This was one of those rare occasions where Deano made the final table and Bubbleboy Bob didn't finish in the points, so Deano has closed the gap by some 21 points or some £21 in the currency that matters. Neil Wedgewood has been absent for a while but found his way back to the final table. Sean Dixon, who I couldn't get off a hand finished in 9th. Michael Martin has missed a couple of final tables recently but finished in 8th. Paul Lamonby always seems to be there or there abouts, has maintained his lead over his brother Dean. Our 6th place finisher was the infamous Dean Lamonby, who recovered well from being very short stacked, although he still is very short. This was Deano's second consecutive final table. Can he make it three in a row? Grant Holt finished on the bubble. Even Champions don't win all the time! For the second tournament in a row, Ian Boom BOOM Arnold finished in third place. Arny collected $130 for this placing. He is making a move up the leaderboard and would surely have been even higher placed had he started playing the online tournaments back in January. In second place and cashing for $195, Mark Heavey, another man that is always in the mix. Our winner and not the first time this year, Jonny Gawith, who collected $325. Well Played Dude! Monday 10th May is the penultimate chance to qualify for the Northern Poker Stars Championship, via one of our online satellites. Don't miss your opportunity to win a £220 seat for a mere $29. Later Dudes!

Winner: DAVE HALL AKA livingnhope
Results: 1st, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 2nd, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 3rd, Ian Arnold (10arny10). 4th, Mark Atkinson (Born2flirt). 5th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 6th, Mark Heavey (rebz1). 7th, Paul Farrell (paddymcginty). 8th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 9th, Shane Padley (jackpad3). 10th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk).
27 players contested our latest league tournament. Only 24 hours after our live event at Carlisle, all of the prizepool again went to the City Boys. Brian Heywood went out in 10th place, but made his fourth final table of the year and is one of the leaders for our POY award. Shane Padley made his first final table of the year, in the online league tournaments. Another final table from Paul Lamonby keeps him in touch with the leaders, and probably more important to Paul, ahead of his sibling Deano. Paul Farrell has been among the elite players on four occasions now. Our 6th place finisher was Mark Heavey who made a great comeback after handing out most of his chips when being caught several times with his hand in the cookie jar. Our current leader, Bob Cloudsdale, with 5 final tables from a possible 8, once again showed that he is determined to be our online champion. Mark Atkinson went out on the bubble, but he is a player that spends a lot of time on 888poker, and seems to do very well. Well played Mark. In third place and collecting $135 was Ian "Boom Boom" Arnold. Arny has only played a handful of events, but has cashed fo a total of $485 in the league tournaments. The runner-up was a very quiet Dean Lamonby. I can't remember him being involved in any chat all night, but I witnessed him chasing flush draw's so it was obviously Deano. Deano managed to claw £3 back on Bob Cloudsdale in their personal challange, and this cash of $202.50 will go to paying Bob his winnings come the end of the year. You will need a few more of these Dude, to leave you with some sweet money. Our winner, Dave Hall. As well as closing the gap and keeping in touch with Bob Cloudsdale, Brian Heywood and Paul Furlong, this win has netted Dave a tidy $337.50. Excellent play Dude! Our next online tournament is on Monday 26th April. This will be the NPS $1000 Freeroll. The following Monday, 3rd May will be our next online league tournament. Later Dudes!

Winner: GRANT HOLT AKA prolific1in2
Results: 1st, Grant Holt (prolific1in2). 2nd, Sean Dixon (SeanDixon). 3rd, Roger Slack (diddlydodge). 4th, Chris Cowley (Kyte85). 5th, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 6th, Jonny Gawith (Haldan29). 7th, Mark Heavey (rebz1). 8th, Mark Atkinson (Born2flirt). 9th, Frazer Ross (MRBUSTOP). 10th, ??????????? (talibanmilk).
36 players contested our seventh league tournament of the year. Apologies for the late kick-off. We had moved into British Summer Time and even though I did inform 888.com of this, the tournament was still scheduled for a 7:30 GMT start. This has now been addressed and will not happen again. Once again we are slightly short of the 40 mark, so I have been spared adding the £30 live tournament seat to the prizepool. Our winner is on a few quid each time he kicks a football, so I'm sure Grant won't miss the £30 entry too much. I can't wait for the end of the season and then we will hopefully see him at a live NPS tournament. We have been graced with the presence of Chris Iwelumo at a couple of events, so I would like to see if Grant can emulate his solid online play on the live stage against the likes of the Farmer, Tiger and All-In. Once again we have new players that I have no identity or contact details for, so they will not be playing in the $1000 freeroll unless they get in touch ASAP. The top five players cashed as follows; 5th, Mike Farrer - $72. 4th, Chris Cowley - $108. 3rd, Roger Slack - $144. 2nd, Sean Dixon - $216 and our winner who collected $360 - Grant Holt - Norwich City Captain and out and out goal machine. Well played Grant.. MOM. Our next online tournament will be held on Monday 12th April, 7:30pm start. This will be the Northern Poker Stars Championship Qualifier. Entry $25 + $4 and one £200 + £20 live event seat added for every 15 players that enter. We are getting close to the event and already have 17 players that have bought-in. The prizepool now stands at £3400. Why not try to win your seat for a mere $29? Later Dudes!

Winner: PAUL GRIFFITHS AKA griffyid
Results: 1st, Paul Griffiths (griffyid). 2nd, Mark Atkinson (Born2flirt). 3rd, David Scrimgour (davas90). 4th, Paul Farrell (paddymcginty). 5th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 6th, Michael Martin (mikey9495). 7th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 8th, Johnny Stedman (johnnycoot). 9th, Paul Furlong (MR_SEAGULL). 10th, Ron Wilkinson (623798).
29 players contested our sixth league tournament of the year. Players, unless you send me your details, then I cannot get in touch with you to inform you of the password for the freeroll's, which will be $1000 next month. Twenty-four hours after seeing a final table dominated by players from the West, it was nice to see the Carlisle boy's making a return. Johnny Stedman made his second NPS final table in the short time period. If I manage to get a Northern Poker Stars team into the APAT team championships, you will be guaranteed a place in the team. Paul Furlong has moved up into second place for the coveted title of NPS Online Player of the Year with another solid online performance. Bob Cloudsdale, however continues to lead the way and is now some £125 up on Deano in their personal duel. If Deano continues to chase draws like he did in this event, then by Christmas, the BubbleBoy could be up by a four figure sum. Free advice Deano - Variance will bite your arse before long and chasing those draws, especially 8 high flushes will cost you dear. Mike Martin made his second consecutive online final table and was also on the final table at our live event in Carlisle the day before. Welcome to NPS and well played Dude. The better poker player of the Lamonby brothers, Paul, finished in fifth. On the bubble was Paul Farrell. In the cash were; Dave Scrimgour who collected $145 for third. This Dude has impressed me no end since joining NPS. Our runner-up, who collected $217.50, (almost enough to cover the meal in Edinburgh on Saturday night?) was Mark Atkinson who had finished in 11th place at Carlisle the day before. Well played Mark. Our winner, The Shandy Supping Southerner that now hails from Carlisle, Paul Griffiths. $362.50 will buy you a few Pina Colada's. The next NPS online tournament will be our league event on Monday 29th March, 7:30pm. This event has been brought forward one week as there is no online tournament on Easter Monday. The event is in the lobby and registration is open. Join us for this online tournament and guarantee your place in our exclusive $1000 freeroll which will be held on Monday 26th April. Well done to the Carlisle boy's. Nice to see you winning something. Nerves must get the better of you when you have to sit face to face with the likes of All-In, Farmer and Tiger? Later Dudes!

Winner: IAN ARNOLD AKA 10arny10
Results: 1st, Ian Arnold (10arny10). 2nd, Paul Furlong (MR_SEAGULL). 3rd, Richard Jackson (1975JACKO75). 4th, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 5th, Steve Blythe (STEBLYTHE). 6th, David Pike (pikey3). 7th, Paul Farrell (paddymcginty). 8th, Michael Martin (mikey9495). 9th, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 10th, Dave McCrone (MacAttack80).
Our fifth online league tournament of the year was contested by 35 players. It is saving me a fortune not having to add a free live seat to the prizepool because we are falling short of the minimum 40 players :-) Come on wipe the smile off my face. All of those that entered are eligible for the NPS $1000 Freeroll which will be held on Monday 26th April. Anyone that didn't play in this league event and wishes to qualify for the $1000 freeroll will have another opportunity on Monday 15th March when we have the Northern Poker Stars Championship Online Qualifier (7:30pm start) and it is in the lobby and registration is open. With eleven players left, Richard Jackson was sitting with 265chips, barely enough to cover the ante, but not enough to cover even the small blind. I knocked out Dave McCrone from Carlisle and Jacko made the final table. He had walked away from his laptop to make a drink and when he returned he was surprised to see that he was on the final table with almost 1K in chips. A few hands later and he was back in the running after doubling up a few times. Dave McCrone got his first points on the leaderboard. Dave Hall has moved up into fourth place in the race to be crowned NPS Online Player of the Year. Michael Martin, playing his first NPS online tournament finished in 8th place. Well done Dude. Another solid performance from Paul Farrell. David Pike collected his first points of the year, finishing on "The Bubble." Steve Blythe the Daddy of the Blythe's cashed in fifth place for $70. Yours truly finished in 4th collecting my first points of the year and $105. Richard Jackson in his first online tournament this year collected his first points and cashed for $140. Paul Furlong is now up to third place on the online leaderboard and finished runner-up collecting $210. Our winner in his first ever NPS online tournament... Collecting $350.. Ian Arnold.. BOOOOOM! Excellent play Dude! That's another player hooked ;-)

Results: 1st, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 2nd, Nick Birchall (nickjohn63). 3rd, Mark Heavey (rebz1). 4th, Johnny Stedman (johnnycoot). 5th, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 6th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 7th, Brian Earle (boogie8978). 8th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 9th, Steve Blythe (STEBLYTHE). 10th, Lee Anderson (anderl39).
39 players contested our fourth NPS online league tournament of 2010. This is only one player short of NPS adding a £30 live event seat to the prizepool. Jonny Gawith was unavailable to play after winning our last online league tournament. He was in Nottingham @ Dusk Till Dawn, picking up his share of the chopped prizepool, (in the £100 Freezeout £20K Guaranteed), a cool £3.5K, before moving on to Walsall for the GUKPT, where his playng partner Sean Barlow finished in 7th (£200 Freezeout) to take home £1060. Well done to both Carlisle players. The top five were paid out as follows; 5th, Mike Farrer (mikkyf) - $78. 4th, Johnny Stedman (jonnycoot) - $117. 3rd, Mark Heavey (rebz1) - $156. 2nd, Nick Birchall (nickjohn63) - $234. 1st, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1) - $390. Well Done Lammy. Beware The Tournament Director! Another online victory for the Carlisle players. An update on the BubbleBoy / Deano Challange (for full details see the blogs)... Bob is currently £102 up. At this rate, Deano will be able to pay you into the GUKPT Main Event @ Blackpool in November. The next online tournament will be held on Monday 1st March, 7:30pm start. This is our NPS $1000 Freeroll. I will send all qualifying players the password. Those of you that have not qualified to play in this freeroll, then you need to join us online.   32 players contested our third league tournament of the year. The final table was dominated by Carlisle players with the notable omission of Deano - The Northern Poker Stars Online Player of the Year in waiting! Our winner from the second league tournament - Chris Kelly - laneboy11, was our first player out. Congratulations to all the players that made the final table. Jonny Gawith who cashed in 5th place in our last online league tournament has improved to win this event. Well played Dude. The top five were paid out as follows; 5th, Paul Furlong (MR_SEAGULL) - $64. 4th, Paul Farrell (paddymcginty) - $96. 3rd, Steve Hoskin (acerat2) - $128. 2nd, Johnny Stedman (jonnycoot) - $192. 1st, Jonny Gawith (Haldan29) - $320. Our next online league tournament will be held on Monday 22nd February, 7:30pm start time. The password will be the same as per this event. Winner: CHRIS KELLY AKA laneboy11
Results: 1st, Chris Kelly (laneboy11). 2nd, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 3rd, Paul Furlong (MR_SEAGULL). 4th, Chris Cowley (kyte85). 5th, Jonny Gawith (Haldan29). 6th, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 7th, Dean Lamonby (dlamonby). 8th, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 9th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 10th, Brian Earle (boogie8978)
Another 43 players contested our second league tournament of 2010. We haven't reached 50 players yet, so Deano hasn't delivered.. AGAIN! I am certain that we would have over 50 players, but every week players are missing the registration cut off. To resolve this problem, I am going to keep the same password for the NPS $25 F.O. tournaments. I will send this to all players and therefore you will know the password for our league events. You can also avoid missing the events by registering early for the tournaments. They are in the lobby, up to a week in advance. Please register early and let's get the field up over 50 players. We had five new players in the event, but unfortunately I don't have details for them, so I cannot give them the password for next weeks NPS $500 Freeroll. Would all new players please download Pacific Poker via this website and complete the "Join Us" form which can be found at the top of the homepage. The final table saw three players, Brian Heywood, Bob Cloudsdale and Chris Cowley make consecutive final table appearances, proving that there is consistency in the play in the West. Deano got some points on the board and clawed £1 of his deficit back in his bet with Bob. Now you are only £71 behind Deano. That's a lot of sweet money for a scrawny kid from Carlisle. The top five cashed. 5th, Jonny Gawith (Haldan29) $86. 4th, Chris Cowley (kyte85) $129. 3rd, Paul Furlong (MR_SEAGULL) $172. 2nd, Mike Farrer (mikkyf) $258. 1st Chris Kelly (laneboy11) $430 and A FREE SEAT TO THE NEXT NPS LIVE £30 DOUBLE CHANCE EVENT. That gives Paddy a total win of almost $500 for a $25 + $2.50 stake. Those of you that are not already playing online with NPS, what are you waiting for? Next Monday all of the players from the past three online tournaments that we have held in January, will be playing for FREE CASH in the NPS $500 Freeroll. I will send the password out 48 hours before the event. If I don't have your details, then get them to me ASAP, so that you don't miss out. Later Dudes! DEANO IS BACK!

Winner: DAVE HALL AKA livingnhope
Results: 1st, Dave Hall (livingnhope). 2nd, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud). 3rd, Mark Nicholson (pic999). 4th, Carl Blythe (carlb08). 5th, Neil Wedgewood (wedgywoo). 6th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 7th, John Reid (JohnLakes). 8th, Chris Cowley (Kyte85). 9th, Grant Holt (prolific1in2). 10th, Paul Christian (fletch2309). DEANO 11th.
43 players was our largest field to date for our online tournaments. I have to give credit to "The Mouth" from Carlisle who has been promoting NPS to his friend. Luckily his solitary mate has lots of connections and the results are being seen in the larger number of players contesting the NPS Online Player of the Year title. A special welcome to Grant Holt (prolific1in2) who is currently the leading goal scorer in all the English Divisions. The star striker at Norwich City made the final table in his first ever NPS online tournament. Well done Grant. That's two top class footballers that participate in NPS tournaments. Chris Iwelumo (Wolves and Scotland) has played in our live events. The payout was: 5th, Neil Wedgewood (wedgywoo) $86. 4th, Carl Blythe (carlb08) $129. 3rd, Mark Nicholson (pic999) $172. 2nd, Bob Cloudsdale (Bob_Cloud) $258. 1st, Dave Hall (livingnhope) $430 + A FREE NPS LIVE TOURNAMENT SEAT (Worth £30). Well played Dudes. There is a side bet currently running between Bob Cloudsdale and Dean Lamonby. £30 + £1 per point to the player that finishes the highest in the league come December. Currently Deano owes Bob £72. I fully expect there to be even more players contesting these online tournaments in the future. Look at the payout for an entry fee of $25 + $2.50. This money is staying within the NPS community too. Deano is on a mission to get at least 50 players contesting these events. Please hurry up and make this happen, so that I can shut him up!! The next online poker with NPS is on Monday 18th January 2010, 7:30pm start. This is one of our satellite tournaments for the NPS Championship. Entry fee $25 + $4 and a seat worth £220 will be added for every 15 players that enter. Finally all of the players that contested tonight's event are eligible for the NPS $500 Freeroll on Monday 1st February 2010, 7:30pm start. Later Dudes!

The final league tournament of the year attracted 33 players, which I am very pleased with. That's it all over with until 2010, when we start the search once again for the Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament Player Of The Year. The final standings are now up on the Leaderboard page. Congratulations to our top three players. 3rd place, Jeff Cass - obstinate, a few of tournaments that Jeff forgot about probably cost him the title. A fantastic year of online tournament play with Northern Poker Stars will have built up Jeff's bankroll with his multiple cashes. 2nd place, Brian Heywood - Bri_uk, came into this final event needing a miracle. Fletch NOT to make the final table and Brian to win the tournament outright. Fletch didn't make the elite 10 and Brian almost succeeded. A great effort Dude. Our Champion, Paul Christian, fletch2309, has played excellent all year, both live and online. Mr Consistent deserved to be rewarded for his play this year. Outstanding poker this year Paul. Tonight's event saw three new players make the final table. Well played, Chris Salmon - Crimsonlash3, Shane Padley - jackpad3 and our winner, Mark Barlow - markthek. Tonight's payout was 5th place, Shane Padley - jackpad3 $66. 4th place, Paul Farrell - paddymcginty $99. 3rd place, Brian Heywood - Bri_uk $132. 2nd place, William Blackburn - .wilma. $198. 1st place, Mark Barlow - markthek $330. The first NPS Online Tournament of 2010 will be held on Wednesday 13th January 2010, 7:30pm start. There will be two online qualifiers in December, for the Northern Poker Stars £200 + £20 Individual Championship in June 2010. These will be held on Wednesday 16th and Wednesday 30th December. These are $25 + $4 to enter and will be a deepstack freezeout format. A live event seat will be added for every 15 players that enter and cash will be paid pro rata. Results: 1st, Robert Don (thenarld). 2nd, David Pike (pikey3). 3rd, Mark Heavey (rebz1). 4th, John Richardson (wotsanace). 5th, Neil Blackburn (ashwoob). 6th, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 7th, Alan Thwaites (allinalt). 8th, Paul Farrell (paddymcginty). 9th, Steve Story (stevie643). 10th, Mike McKenzie (demileigh18).
34 players contested our 26th Online tournament. The numbers are rising event after event. Welcome to the six new players from Carlisle. There is only one online event left to decide the Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament Player of the Year, and it is down to just two players. Paul Christian (fletch2309) currently leads Brian Heywood (Bri_uk) by nine points. The bottom line is, Brian needs Paul not to make the final table and he then must go on to finish 2nd to tie with Paul, or 1st to pip Paul to the title by one point. Talk about long shots! Throw into the mix, an ever increasing field of players, and a certain Jeff Cass (obstinate), who will want to finish in 2nd place as opposed to 3rd. Jeff is currently four points behind of Brian. These three players are our trophy winners, but in what order is yet to be decided. Please do not miss the final NPS Online Tournament of this season. This will be held on Wednesday 02nd December 2009 @ 7:30pm. Hopefully we will get our largest field of the year, which currently stands at 35 runners. There has been a shift in the balance of power recently with Dean Lamonby winning the last $500 freeroll and three players from Carlisle making the final table at this event, all debutants to boot. Well played Mike McKenzie (demileigh18) and Steve Story (stevie643) for finishing 10th and 9th respectively. The top five players were paid out. Neil Blackburn (ashwoob) finished 5th and collected $68. John Richardson (wotsanace) finished 4th for $102. Mark Heavey collected $136 for 3rd place. David Pike (pikey3) - my nemesis was our runner-up and cashed out $204. Pikey is now seven points ahead of me in our personal battle. I have got it all to do at the last event. I would like to know which poker authority has advised Pikey to raise UTG with 2,5 o/s early in a tournament with nine players left to act? This must be where I am going wrong? Our winner, from Carlisle, playing his first ever NPS Online Tournament is Robert Don (thenarld). Well played Robert. You amassed a massive chip stack from very early in this tournament and led all the way. Robert collected $340 and a free seat (worth £30) to the next NPS Live £30 Double Chance event, @ The Ukrainian Club, Carlisle on Sunday 31st January. Robert is also entitled to enter the next NPS $500 Freerol,l as are the rest of the field that contested the 26th NPS Online Tournament. All this for $25 + $2.50. The next NPS Online Tournament is our season finale and the league will start again on 13th January. There will be two special online tournaments on Wednesday 16th and Wednesday 30th December. These will be satellite for seats, worth £220 to the Northern Poker Stars Championship which will be held on Saturday 12th June (venue TBC). A seat will be added to the prizepool for every 15 players that enter these satellites. The entry fee will be $25 + $4. Winner: BRIAN HEYWOOD AKA Bri_uk
Results: 1st, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 2nd, Lee Anderson (anderl39). 3rd, Maurice Wigham (Bigwig276). 4th, Steven Holt (directorcufc). 5th, Chris Kelly (laneboy11). 6th, Mark Nicholson (pic999). 7th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 8th, David Pike (pikey3). 9th, Stephen Brough (solwaylil). 10th, Ken Johnston (NPStars).
Once again there has been a slight increase in the number of players contesting the NPS Online Tournaments. We were up to 28 players for tonight's event with five new players. Thanks to you all. I have requested that this month's $500 Freeroll is scheduled for Wednesday 11th November, 7:30pm start time. All of tonight's players and those that contested the NPS Online Tournament No.24 will be eligible for this tournament. I will inform you all of the password once the team at Pacific Poker have it listed in the lobby. With only two online events remaining until the end of this season's Player of the Year competition, an interesting finale is unfolding. Our long time out and out leader, Paul Christian, had by his high standards, a poor tournament, failing to make the final table. It was way back in Tournament No.18 the last time that Fletch failed to add to his points tally. Absent tonight was Jeff Cass, who went into tonight's event in 2nd place and 13 points behind of Paul. Obviously this was an opportunity missed! Pikey and I resumed our battle and my 10th place finish, added to his failure to break into the top 5 tonight, means that things stay as they were. Who's laughing now? Steven Holt, in only his second NPS Online Tournament finished on "the bubble" and will be looking for a cash at the next event. 3rd place and $140 goes to the current leader of the Vegas Tournaments, Maurice Wigham. Well played Wiggy. 2nd place and $210 goes to one of our 1st timers, Lee Anderson. A great effort Lee, but you were up against HUGE stack when we reached "heads-up play." Our winner, of $350, and a free £30 seat at the final charity tournament of the year @ The Haven Club (on 13th December), is Brian Heywood. More importantly to Bri, is that he moves above Jeff and now sits in 2nd place, some 9 points behind of Fletch, for the NPS Online Title... With only two online tournaments remaining, there are realistically only five players contesting the trophies. The next NPS Online Tournament will be held on Wednesday 18th November 2009 @ 7:30pm. I shall confirm the $500 Freeroll with all eligible players, as soon as I hear back from Pacific Poker. Later Dudes!

Winner: MIKE FARRER AKA mikkyf
Results: 1st, Mike Farrer (mikkyf). 2nd, Jeff Cass (obstinate). 3rd, Paul Christian (fletch2309). 4th, Guy Woodburn (H1PEK). 5th, Paul Lamonby (1LAMCHOP1). 6th, Mark Nicholson (pic999). 7th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 8th, Paul Farrell (paddymcginty). 9th, Chris Glen (chrisboots). 10th, David Pike (pikey3).
24 players contested our 3rd online tournament hosted by Pacific Poker. Another couple of players just missed the registration period, so I am confident that our numbers will increase. I fully expect to see more players join when we launch our live tournaments in Carlisle on Sunday 8th November. From January 2010, Northern Poker Stars will add a free live tournament seat to the winner of the online tournament if we have a MINIMUM of 30 players. Pacific Poker will continue to reward us with the exclusive (to our members) $500 Freeroll if we have a minimum of 20 players contesting the NPS online tournaments. All the 24 players that entered this tournament are eligible for the next $500 NPS Freeroll, and anyone else wanting to qualify can do so if they play our next online tournament on Wednesday 4th November, 7:30pm start. Paul Farrell made the final table in his 1st ever NPS Online Tournament, finishing in 8th place. Well done Paul. 3rd place and $125 went to Paul Christian who continues to lead in the race for NPS Online Player of the Year. 2nd place and $187.50 went to Jeff Cass, who continues to pursue Paul for the title and has closed the gap slightly. Our winner, Mike Farrer who has collected $312.50 plus a free seat to the next NPS Live Tournament on Sunday 1st November @ The Haven Club. This has been a good week for Mike, who also won the 1st $500 NPS Freeroll collecting $250. Anyone that is sceptical about playing the NPS Online Tournaments, wants to consider this.. For a $25 + $2.50 stake, Mike has collected in two days, a total of $562.50 PLUS a £30 seat at the next live tournament. If this wasn't enough, NPS have rewarded Mike for being our most loyal player during 2009 with a £1060 Main Event Seat for the GUKPT, Blackpool. Get onboard with NPS and Pacific Poker.. What are you waiting for? Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 23
  October 7th, 2009
Winner: RYAN WATSON AKA watson101
Results: 1st, Ryan Watson (watson101). 2nd, Chris Kelly (laneboy11). 3rd, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 4th, Mark Nicholson (pic999). 5th, Nick Birchall (nickjohn63). 6th, Paul Christian (fletch2309). 7th, Brian Heywood (Bri_uk). 8th, Stephen Brough (solwaylil). 9th, David Pike (pikey3). 10th, Mike Farrer (mikkyf).
21 players contested our 2nd online tournament with Pacific Poker. It was nice to welcome back Billy Crane (latos01), Jamie Butterworth (jambuttz), and our eventual winner, Ryan Watson (watson101). We also welcomed a new player from Broughton, David Cooper (Coops009), a member of the world famous Bootle Poker Club. I am sure that his good mate Edmo will be onboard soon. An exciting tournament that has not made any real impression on the Player of the Year award. Jeff Cass (obstinate) was very unlucky, going out in 11th after pressing the wrong button and calling, instead of folding. You still retain 2nd place overall Jeff, as Fletch extended his lead at the top by 3 points. Brian Heywood has closed the gap (even after his beat of pocket Kings being bust by pocket 6's), and is now only 1 point off 2nd place, and 15 points from the top of the leaderboard. With four online games left, this competition is still wide open. My nemesis David Pike (pikey3) stuttered to the final table and managed to bag himself 3 points. Our personal duel will resume at the next tournament, but be warned that if you are going to call my raise and continuation bets with bottom pair, then I expect to come out as the victor! You have been warned! Mark Nicholson (pic99) finished on the Bubble. 3rd place and $105 went to yours truly. My goal for the remainder of the season is to stay ahead of Pikey! 2nd place and $157.50 went to Chris Kelly (laneboy11), and this catapults Chris into the mix for the trophies. Well played Chris. A mixture of aggression and luck served you well tonight. Our winner, Ryan Watson (watson101). $262.50 will buy you a decent top Watto. Make sure you don't spill drink all down the front... AGAIN! You have also won a free seat at the next NPS Live Charity Tournament on Sunday 1st November @ The Haven Club, 3pm start. Very well played Ryan. Nice to see you at the tables again. The next NPS Online Tournament will be held on Wednesday 21st October, 7:30pm. To qualify for the $500 freeroll, provided by Pacific Poker, please join us for this tournament. We will receive this extra prize for all the NPS players that contest the next event, if we have a minimum of 20 players. Those that have participated in the last two events will shortly be sent details of the $500 freeroll that you have qualified for. Later Dudes!
Northern Poker Stars Online Tournament No. 22
  September 23rd, 2009
Winner: DAVID MINGINS AKA cheersmug
Results: 1st, David Mingins (cheersmug). 2nd, Alan Thwaites (allinalt). 3rd, Paul Christian (fletch2309). 4th, William Blackburn (.wilma.). 5th, Liam Gearing (liamgear). 6th, Jeff Cass (obstinate). 7th, Ken Johnston (NPStars). 8th, Nick Birchall (nickjohn63). 9th, Chris Fairclough (ChrisF10). 10th, Mark Hillary (hilcher).
23 players contested our 1st online tournament to be hosted by Pacific Poker. The feedback has been excellent and I am positive that the number of players entering our online events will increase. The final table consisted of several usual suspects, such as Jeff, Wilma and Fletch and a few players that haven't played our online tournaments in a while, namely Ming, Liam and Alan. Mark Hillary, an online novice by his own admission, made the final table in his 1st ever NPS Online Tournament. Well done Mark. Chris lost his chips after getting involved in some banter with yours truly about football. The Plastic Scouser obviously is unable to multi-task. Jeff Cass makes ANOTHER final table and collects valuable points to keep him in 2nd place on the leaderboard. Wilma's 4th place finish moves him back into the top 10 on the leaderboard. Mr Consistant, Fletch extends his lead to 11 points in the race for NPS Online Player of the Year. Fletch also collected $115 for finishing 3rd. Alan Thwaites, who hasn't played for a while had an excellent comeback. He carried a bit of luck that is required to succeed in poker events and rivered a few players, (Wilma suffered a particularly harsh beat to finish on the bubble), but he himself fell foul of this when flopping top two pair A's & K's only to be called AI by Ming with pocket 9's and the river brought a 9. Very well played Al. I'm sure that you will be pleased with 2nd place and $172.50. Our winner, Ming, who managed to sew up the victory before he ran out of Grolsch, and looked after the chips that he took from Bob, (at your request Bob), until the end. Another player that has been missing for a while, but after this victory and after cashing $287.50, he won't be missing many more! There are 5 NPS Online Tournaments left, to decide the eventual Player of the Year. The top three players will receive trophies at our presentation on Sunday 13th December 2009. The competition is still wide open and there are 20 players that can technically finish in the mix. The next NPS Online Tournament will be held on Wednesday 7th October 2009 @ 7:30pm. Please remember that if we have a minimum of 20 players contesting the NPS Online Tournament, then Pacific Poker will reward us with a $500 Freeroll that month. Over a year, that will equate to $6000 or £4000 in real money for NPS members ONLY! What better reason do you need to play online with your local poker club? Later Dudes!

The winner and new leader in the race for the Northern Poker Stars Online Player Of The Year accolade.. Paul Christian (Fletch2309). Paul collects $150 and a free seat at the next NPS Live Charity Tournament @ The Haven Club on Sunday 4th October 2009. Winner: JEFF CASS AKA BLOND1E
Results: 1st, Jeff Cass (BLOND1E). 2nd, Bob Cloudsdale (Boboud). 3rd, Paul Christian (Fletch2309). 4th, Mike Farrer (m1kkyf). 5th, Garry Duguid (bluejays75). 6th, Philip Potts (samyapdog). 7th, Ian Tweedie (Joeboy). 8th, Chris Glen (10109). 9th, Brian Heywood (TightAsADucksArs). 10th, David Pike (pikey3).
14 players contested the 20th NPS Online Tournament. At last the wait is over for Jeff Cass. He has got the win that has so far eluded him and that elevates him to joint top of the online leaderboard, a position that he shares with Paul Christian. Jeff managed to get Chris Glen to fold THREE hands during the tournament. That stat alone was worthy of the win. When Jeff adds up all of his cashes at the NPS Online Tournaments, I am sure that he will be in profit. 3rd place and $70 goes to Mr Consistent, Paul Christian. another solid performance Fletch. 2nd place and $105 goes to Bob Cloudsdale, who has given me the literature that has improved his game. You have been warned! Our winner, Jeff Cass, who cashes for the sum of $175 and gets a free seat at the NPS £30 Double Chance Tournament @ the Haven Club on Sunday 6th September. Well played Jeff. Chip leader from start to finish. The next NPS Online Tournament with Blue Square Poker will be held on Monday 7th September @ 7:30pm. Thanks to all that participated... Even you Joeboy. Grrrrrr!

Winner: PAUL LAMONBY AKA LAMCHOP1
Results: 1st, Paul Lamonby (LAMCHOP1). 2nd, Chris Glen (01019). 3rd, William Blackburn (Wilma777). 4th, Paul Christian (Fletch2309). 5th, Joan Lawler (Sssnakie). 6th, Stephen Jackson (beatalejuice999). 7th, Stephen O'Hagan (texaspete8). 8th, Chris Kelly (laneboy). 9th, David Pike (pikey3). 10th, Brian Heywood (TightAsADucksArs).
Many thanks to the 14 players that participated. We are suffering the effects of the connection problems that are being experienced by our players with AOL, Tiscali and Talk Talk ISP's, but I have a solution to this problem and by the end of September, I promise that all of these players will be satisfied. I am going to move the night on which we play the online tournaments from a Monday to a Wednesday, because I know of players that would be able to participate if the online games were moved to a Wednesday. NPS are about to launch a drive to get more of our members involved in the online games. Watch this space! The players that get involved will be rewarded. Many thanks to our new players, Denis Hannah (UkTMouldingcouk) and Stephen O'Hagan (texaspete8, even though you did suck out on me... Grrrrrrr!). in the cash tonight was William Blackburn in 3rd place, collecting $70. Chris Glen managed to massacre another massive chip lead, (two in 24hrs), to finish 2nd and collect $105. I have to give a special mention to Chris, who is sitting in a very good position in both the Live and Online Player of the Year competitions. He has quietly, (well not quietly, but you know what I mean), creeped unnoticed into a handy position for both accolades. Well done Chris. You are one of our regulars and deserve to be rewarded for your loyalty. Our winner and soon to be the Carlisle Tournament Director for NPS, Paul Lamonby. Congratulations Paul. $175 and a free seat at the next NPS Live Charity Tournament @ the Haven Club on Sunday 6th September. A final mention to Ian Tweedie. 1st last night at the live event, but 1st out at the online event under the pseudonim of JOEBOY. Life is never dull. The next NPS Online Tournament will be held on Monday 17th August @ 7:30pm. Later Dudes!

Winner: MIKE FARRER AKA m1kkyf
Results: 1st, Mike Farrer (m1kkyf). 2nd, David Pike (pikey3). 3rd, Chris Glen (10109). 4th, Neil Wedgewood (wedgywoo). 5th, Darren Slack (pokermaster619). 6th, Jimmy Todhunter (Jimmy The Duck). 7th, Steve Ellwood (stevellwood). 8th, Jeff Cass (BLOND1E). 9th, Joan Lawler (Sssnakie). 10th, David Vaughan (Vaunie).
22 players entered, including 5 new players, all of whom, with the exception of Mark Heavey, made the final table. Well played, David Vaughan, Joan Lawler, Steve Ellwood and Darren Slack. I hope to see you all at the NPS live events in the future. I understand that it is a long way for you to travel Joan, but please check out the Las Vegas Qualifiers and give some serious consideration to entering this years events. I would like to welcome a player that feature regularly on the GUKPT circuit, and please feel free to bring along any fellow Lancastrian poker players. All players please note that the amended format, which will please you all, along with the dates of this years events, are now live on the website, under the Las Vegas Qualifiers tab. Chris Glen, who had almost half of the chips in play at one stage, finished 3rd, collecting $110. Well played Chris. My tip to win a trophy next year, David Pike, cashed in 2nd for $165. That's three cashes from four NPS Online Tournaments. Excellent Pikey. Our winner described the final table as "very tricky". How right he was! Mike "Vegas Baby" Farrer who collected $275 for his win tonight, has won the last three NPS events. The £5 pub poker event @ The Richmond and the £30 Double Chance @ The Haven Club, as well as this victory. You are HOT at the moment Dude. As well as the cash, Mike has won a free seat at our next NPS £30 Double Chance Event on Sunday 9th August @ The Haven Club. At this event, we will be raising funds for the CFM Radio "Cash For Kids" appeal. The next NPS Online Tournament will be held on Monday 10th August, 7:30pm start. Hope to see you all at the tables. Later Dudes!

23 players contested the 17th NPS Online Tournament. Another keenly contested event that lasted almost 4 hours. These events are certainly value for money and after the recent successful live charity tournament in Kendal, I expect us to pick up some new players for the online games. Well done to Jeff Cass, who finished 3rd and collected $115. Philip Potts finished 2nd and cashed for $172.50. Great play Totty. Our winner is Chris Kelly and he has won cash to the sum of $287.50 and a free seat to the next NPS Live Charity Tournament @ The Haven Club on Sunday 19th July. Congratulations Chris. Winner: PAUL CHRISTIAN AKA Fletch2309
Results: 1st, Paul Christian (Fletch2309). 2nd, David Pike (pikey3). 3rd, Mike Farrer (m1kkyf). 4th, Chris Glen (10109). 5th, Karl Christian (karosfandango2). 6th, Stephen Jackson (197888). 7th, Nick Birchall (nickjohn63). 8th, Ken Johnston (NPStars77). 9th, Bob Cloudsdale (Boboud). 10th, Rob Eilbeck (bodrob).
16 players contested the 16th NPS Online Tournament. Just as at yesterday's live charity tournament, Ron Wilkinson, our EPT winner, was 1st man out. Unlucky Ron. Perhaps some tips from John are long overdue? This was a very well contested tournament and almost lasted longer than any previous NPS online event. Firstly, I must give credit to Mike and Paul for waiting as long as possible to act on every hand until David got reconnected. This was fantastic sportsmanship. 3rd Place and $80 went to Mike Farrer. 2nd Place and $120 went to David Pike and the winner of $200 and a free seat at the next NPS Live Charity Tournament @ The Haven Club on Sundsay 19th July, is Paul Christian. Well Played Fletch. You came to the final table as one of the short stacks. Your patience paid off. Thanks to all that participated. The next NPS Online Tournament will be held on Monday 13th July, 7:30pm start. Later Dudes!

Winner: DAVID PIKE AKA pikey3
Results: 1st, David Pike (pikey3). 2nd, Nick Birchall (nickjohn63). 3rd, Ron Wilkinson (ronnie009). 4th, Brian Heywood (TightAsADucksArs). 5th, Bob Cloudsdale (Boboud). 6th, Guy Woodburn (H1PEK). 7th, Chris Glen (01019). 8th, Neil Wedgewood (wedgywoo). 9th, Paul Robson (moncojoe007). 10th, Ken Johnston (NPStars77).
12 players contested the 15th NPS Online Tournament. Ron Wikinson finished in 3rd place. His pocket Aces ran into pocket Jacks, held by David Pike. On a Jack high flop each player re-raised each other until Ron was AI and pikey3's trips held up. Unlucky Ron, although you have still cashed for $60. Nick Birchall was up against it, heads-up with David, being 5-1 underdog in chips. After a battle nickjohn63 pushed on the turn with pocket 7's and ran into trip 4's held by pikey3. Well played Nick, who collected $90 for finishing 2nd. The winner, David Pike, playing his first NPS Online Tournament, collected $150. Congratulations David. You also receive a free seat at the NPS Live Charity Tournament at The Haven Club on Sunday 28th June. The next NPS Online Tournament will be held on Monday 29th June 2009 @ 7:30pm. Later Dudes!

Results: 1st, Chris Glen (01019). 2nd, Brian Heywood (TightAsADucksArs). 3rd, Rob Eilbeck (bodrob). 4th, Richard Jackson (NORTHSEATIGER). 5th, Paul Christian (Fletch2309). 6th, Ron Wilkinson (ronnie009). 7th, Andrew Speight (SharkSpeight). 8th, Paul Robson (moncojoe007). 9th, Ian Tweedie (Joeboy). 10th, Jeff Cass (BLOND1E).
19 players contested the NPS Online Tournament. Firstly CONGRATULATIONS to Joeboy who has made an online final table... AT LAST!!! A bit ironic that 24 hours earlier, Rob had finished 1st and Chris 3rd in our live tournament and here the positions were reversed. Well Done to our winner, Chris Glen on winning $237.50 and ANOTHER free seat at a NPS Live Charity Tournament (24th May). I think this year you have had more free seats than you have paid for??? 2nd place and $142.50 goes to Brian Heywood. 3rd place was Rob Eilbeck who picked up $95 to add to his winnings from the previous night. The next NPS Online Tournament will be held on Monday 15th June. 25th May is a Bank Holiday and we seem to get low numbers participating on Bank Holiday's. The following Monday, NPS will be in Vegas and the Monday after we will be jetlagged after just getting back from The Mecca Of Poker. Later Dudes!

Firstly because Paul and I were not playing the NPS Online Tournament as we were at Blackpool's G Casino for the £100 Deepstack Freezeout and secondly, for my stupidity in having the online game on a Bank Holiday Monday, when many people are either away or are out celebrating being off work. I will bear this in mind and will avoid Bank Holiday's in future. I cannot comment on the game unfortunately, as I was in Blackpool. The stat's are as follows; 13 players. 1st Place collected $162.50 and a free seat at the next NPS Live Charity Tournament. Well Done Rob. 2nd Place collected $97.50. Congratulations Moxie. 3rd Place and $65, Jeff Cash, I mean Cass. Should consider changing the surname Jeff as you always seem to profit from these tournaments. Well Done Again. The next NPS Online Tournament will be held on Monday 27th April @ 7:30pm. Not a Bank Holiday, so the numbers will be up. Thanks to all that participated.

Winner: CHRIS KELLY AKA laneboy
Results: 1st, Chris Kelly (laneboy). 2nd, Neil Wedgewood (wedgywoo). 3rd, Adam Haig (percy316). 4th, Paul Robson (moncojoe007). 5th, Gary Clucas (gazcluc). 6th, Bob Cloudsdale (Boboud). 7th, Tim White (tickle 66). 8th, Paul Christian (Fletch 2309). 9th, Brian Heywood (TightAsADucksArs). 10th, Wayne Nixon (WNIX).
22 players contested the 11th NPS Online Tournament. Congratulations to Chris Kelly who picked up $275 and a $55 + $5 GUKPT Satellite Entry, for his win. Neil Wedgewood collected $165 for 2nd and 3rd placed Adam Haig received $110. Congratulations to Wayne Nixon on making the final table at his 1st NPS Online Tournament. I suspect that the lack of players is down to the problems that are occurring with the Blue Square software and AOL, Tiscali and Talk Talk ISP's. I have reported this to my affiliates manager at Blue Square and here is the response. Hi Ken, Attached is last week’s result, along with an updated list of NPS players. Dave is sorting out the password for the next tournament for you now. Regarding the issue with connection problems, here’s what I can tell you: AOL changed their settings a few weeks back so that, during peak times, subscribers using what they define as peer-to-peer software may have a slower service or in some cases be cut off. For some reason, they have put iPoker in the same bracket, and so all sites on the network are having the same issue. TalkTalk users may also have had the same problem, since they are pretty much the same company as AOL, but we understand this has now been resolved. Unfortunately, our protests to AOL seem to have fallen on deaf ears; what we’d therefore recommend is that your players who are AOL subscribers complain to them directly, and then hopefully they will listen to their customers and do something to remedy the situation. I’ve just done a quick Google search and found this thread about it on the Gutshot forum: http://www.gutshot.com/bforum/showthread.php?p=278490. Seriously, we need you guys to kick up a fuss about it to AOL. As for Tiscali, we’re not aware of a problem there, so if you can find out more detail about the problems they’ve been experiencing, we can look into that. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Mark Mark Armitage Affiliate Marketing Executive Rank Interactive Development * mark.armitage@bluesq.com ( +44 (0) 207 984 4994 Any player that is encountering problems whilst using Blue Square Poker, please send me the details of the problem, your username or tablename and your ISP. I will forward them on to Blue Square. I understand that this problem is generic across all the iPoker network. In the meantime, could all of the AOL users, follow Mark's advice above and put the pressure on AOL. Later Dudes!

Winner: PAUL CHRISTIAN AKA Fletch2309
Results: 1st, Paul Christian (Fletch2309). 2nd, Ken Johnston (NPStars77). 3rd, Bob Cloudsdale (Boboud). 4th, Garry Lindsay (KingGaz). 5th, Garry Duguid (bluejays75). 6th, Mark Farr (MoxieVegas). 7th, Kevin McDowell (gettingmessy). 8th, Brian Heywood (TightAsADucksArs). 9th, Chris Kelly (laneboy). 10th, Stephen Brough (solwaylil).
The amount of comments that I have received today about last night's online tournament has been unbelievable. Yes, this was a very very well contested tournament that went on for over 4 hours. 25 players played for the 1st prize of $312.50 cash, plus a seat at the next NPS Live Charity Tournament, worth £30, plus a $55 + $5 entry fee to the Blue Square Poker Friday night GUKPT satellite tournament.. WOW! All this for $25 (£18). If you are not already playing, get signed up to Blue Square Poker via the Northern Poker Stars website and join us for our next online tournament on Monday 30th March 2009 @ 7:30pm. Many thanks to all that played. The final table was a very well contested event. The comment, 'War of Attrition' was very apt. Bob, I was very impressed with your new aggressive style of play. Your squeeze play had me putting down good hands pre-flop. Play like that in Vegas and you will do well. Many apologies to Garry, bluejays75, for the trouble that you had with your gameplay freezing. I hope that Blue Square and AOL can sort this out. It was almost my 1st NPS Online victory, but I was pipped to 1st place by my business partner, Paul, who came back from the dead. Well Played Fletch. Thanks Again Everyone!

Winner: ALAN ROONEY AKA Motherwell
Results: 1st, Alan Rooney (Motherwell). 2nd, Jeff Cass (BLOND1E). 3rd, Sean Forsyth (4lcatraz). 4th, Mark Nicholson (Pickle999). 5th, Bob Cloudsdale (Boboud). 6th, Gary Meagan (garymegz). 7th, Andrew Speight (SharkSpeight). 8th, Paul Robson (moncojoe007). 9th, Karl Christian (karosfandango2). 10th, Mark Farr (MoxieVegas).
24 players contested the 9th NPS ONline Tournament. Congratulations to the winner, Alan Rooney, playing his 1st NPS event. Alan collected $300. Jeff Cass makes another final table, although the win is continuing to be elusive. I'm sure it will come soon Jeff. Still $180 for your excellent effort. Sean cashes in the NPS Online Tournaments for the 1st time, finishing 3rd and picking up $120. Thanks to all that took part. The next online tournament will be held on Monday 16th March and there will be an extra bonus for the winner. Blue Square are adding a $55 + $5 entry to a GUKPT satellite event for the winner. I am informed, that this tournament usually generates 2 GUKPT Main Event entries worth £1060 each. These seats can be taken at any GUKPT leg, except the Grand Final. This bonus will be added to the next 2 NPS ONline Tournaments, and if we can pick up another 30 players, then will be added to all NPS Online Tournaments. Dudes, get your friends signed up. This is a fantastic opportunity for us. Don't let it slip through our fingers. We all know someone that plays poker and we all know someone that plays online that is not yet playing the NPS events. Get them to sign up to Blue Square via Northern Poker Stars and we will all benefit from this offer from Blue Square. Thanks again to all of the participants.

Winner: LEE HOUGHTON AKA NPSTARS01
Results: 1st, Lee Houghton (NPSTARS01). 2nd, Karl Christian (karosfandango2). 3rd, Chris Kelly (laneboy). 4th, Brian Heywood (TightAsADucksArs). 5th, Paul Robson (moncojoe007). 6th, Chris Glen (01019). 7th, Steven Greig (chappers08). 8th, Mike Farrer (m1kkyf). 9th, Ken Johnston (NPStars77). 10th, William Blackburn (Wilma777).
Only 19 players contested the 8th NPS Online Tournament. No other way to describe it, but it's disappointing. So many players asked for an online game for NPS members and we have worked hard to provide it. Welcome to Garry (bluejays75) from Carlisle who played his 1st NPS Online Tournament. Apologies to Jeff for busting his pocket J's with my A,Q and knocking him out when I spiked a Q on the river. Some poetic justice in that earlier, when I had re-raised his raise with pocket 10's, he called me and took a lot of chips off me with... A,Q... At least you are a good sport Mr Cass :-) Thanks go to Blob who raises and then is subject to my re-raise AI and he call for 3 x his original raise, with pocket 7's (???? Are U reading different poker books to me ????) and spikes a 7 on the river to bust my pocket 8's and knock me out. If I had any luck, it would be bad luck. Still that's the last 4 final tables that I have made, not bad considering that I hate online poker! When I get the luck that some of you seem to be getting, maybe then I will go on to win one... We have a new leader of the Online Player Of The Year. Well done Bucket. Another solid performance. Congratulations to Chris for his 3rd place finish. He collects $95. Karl, you have proved AGAIN that you are Top Poker Dog in the Christian household. You didn't have to work too hard though as Fletch was 1st out! A nice sum of $142.50 at your 1st NPS Online Tournament. However it should have been more. The final 2 hands; karosfandango2 is AI with A,8 suited. NPSTARS01 calls with K,8 o/s. Flop pairs the 8 for both, turn card a K and no improvement. karosfandango2 is AI with K,J o/s, NPSTARS01 calls with Q,10 o/s and spikes a Q on the river... GAME OVER! Not your finest victory Blobster, so lets have no boasting. Even you are not cheeky enough to gloat over this one! YOU LUCKY ****! Still $237.50 to buy me a few drinks with in Vegas... The next NPS Online Tournament, will be held on Monday 30th February (private joke) or even 2nd March @ 7:30pm. Please, Please, PLEASE get involved. Get your friends involved. You dont know what you have until its gone. Thanks to all that took part... EXCEPT BLOB!

Winner: GUY WOODBURN AKA H1PEK
Results: 1st, Guy Woodburn (H1PEK). 2nd, William Blackburn (Wilma777). 3rd, Gary Clucas (gazcluc). 4th, Alan Thwaites (jinxa9). 5th, Richard Jackson (NORTHSEATIGER). 6th, Ken Johnston (NPStars77). 7th, Andrew Speight (SharkSpeight). 8th, Paul Christian (Fletch2309). 9th, Brian Heywood (TightAsADucksArs). 10th, Paul Robson (moncojoe007).
25 players contested the 7th NPS Online tournament. Glad to see we had our "normal" Mr Clucas back, instead of Crazyhorse Clucas that went AI on the 1st hand of the last online tournament. The current leader, Jeff cass was taking a break from poker. Obviously still rattled from the bad beat that he took the previous day in the Vegas tournament. Paul Robson has taken advantage of this to join Jeff at the top of the leaderboard and Wilma has significantly closed the gap. Guy played like a true professional (from Bootle) and just seemed to hit everything. If only the cards had gone his way the previous day, he might have been going to Vegas. A 1st final table for my mate Jacko and a 1st final table for Speighty, (it's been a while since U got the better of Jimmy!) and for Alan. Well Done Dudes! The next online tournament will be on Monday 16th February @ 7:30pm. Blue Square are looking to add some extra value to the online tournaments. I will keep U all updated on this. Thanks to all that participated.

Winner: NEIL WEDGEWOOD AKA wedgywoo
Results: 1st, Neil Wedgewood (wedgywoo). 2nd, Paul Christian (Fletch2309). 3rd, Paul Robson (moncojoe007). 4th, Steven Greig (Chappers08). 5th, Bob Cloudsdale (Boboud). 6th, Ken Johnston (NPStars77). 7th, Jeff Cass (BLOND1E). 8th, Brian Heywood (TightAsADucksArs). 9th, Mark Nicholson (Pickle9999). 10th, Paul Seath (Delighted).
29 players contested the 6th NPS Online Tournament. I have to tell this in chronological order (that means, as it happened, from the beginning, just for the Distington lads). Gary "Crazyhorse" Clucas good to his word, pushes AI on the 1st hand, with 10, 5 o/s and is called by Stephen Brough (solwaylil) with K, J (won't always be a good call) and its an early bath for Mr Clucas! It was amusing Gaz, thanks for that. I had a feeling that it would be a long drawn out tournament with much to-ing and fro-ing of chips. The final table started with Delighted as the chip leader (yes, really!) and he was quick to ask everyone, "Who's the chip leader?" 2 hands later and he is the chip loser after throwing away 80% of his stack. Consistency is a good thing, unless of course it is your type of consistency Paul. At least you had fun. Jeff Cass makes ANOTHER final table and now solely leads the NPS Online Player competition... This is the type of consistency you should aspire to achieve Paul. Well Done Jeff. It was a very tight final table and Chappers was very lucky to go out on the bubble, after spiking on the river to knock me out earlier... :-) Bucket cashes AGAIN.. 3rd place collecting $145. Fletch (who came back from being very short stacked at the early stages of the final table) finishes in 2nd place collecting $217.50... Excellent play Mate. The winner, who deserved it after his honesty, THANKS NEIL, was very very dominant heads-up... wedgywoo collecting $362.50 for plying his poker skills. The next online tournament is on Monday 2nd February @ 7:30pm. Thanks to all who participated.

Winner: CHRIS GLEN AKA 01019
Results: 1st, Chris Glen (01019). 2nd, Nick Birchall (nickjohn63). 3rd, Paul Seath (Delighted). 4th, Ken Johnston (NPStars77). 5th, Peter Young (daddydigdog99). 6th, William Blackburn (Wilma777). 7th, Gary Clucas (gazcluc). 8th, John Richardson (wotsanace). 9th, Jamie Butterworth (Jambuttz1). 10th, Bob Cloudsdale (Boboud).
21 players took part in the 5th NPS Online Tournament. Numbers are down for the following reasons; "router broke", "working in Holland", "backshift", "on holiday", WISH I WAS!! My good mate Bubble Boy Bob finishes in 10th.. V unlucky... Pushes with pocket 4's (short stacked). Hits a full house on the flop, then ends up with quad Jacks for a split pot, and he isn't happy?? Sorry mate it was V funny. You hit quad Jacks, win nothing and then go out next hand.. Jamie finishes in 9th after donating all of his chips to me when I go all-in and he calls with A 10.. Thanks :-) Another final table for John Richardson and the consistant Gary Clucas. Wilma regains the Blackburn bragging rights and Digger makes the final table in his 1st NPS Online Tournament. I finished on the bubble.. Poetic justice for laughing at the misery of the original Bubble Boy, but be aware guys, that's the handicap off and I have my first points. Delighted, how the hell did you finish 3rd??? You had 40% of the chips in play at one stage!! $105 for your trouble's though Mr Seath. Nick kept the flag flying for the Kendal boys. He arrived late as his laptop broke. Relieved the wife of her's (you can untie her now Nick and let her out of the cupboard), and ended up 2nd, collecting $157.50. Chris Glen in his 1st NPS Online Tournament wins $262.50 and ANOTHER free seat at a Live Charity Tournament. If its not for 1st in the online tournament, it's the raffle. If it's not you, it's your mate Bucket!!! Thanks Dudes..

Winner: ROB EILBECK AKA bodrob
Results: 1st, Rob Eilbeck (bodrob). 2nd, Mike Farrer (m1kkyf). 3rd, Neil Blackburn (myduss). 4th, Joanne Marshall (Jodeal). 5th, Jeff Cass (BLOND1E). 6th, Josy Hewer (oscaraces77). 7th, Bob Cloudsdale (Boboud). 8th, Jamie Butterworth (Jambuttz1). 9th, William Blackburn (Wilma777). 10th, Neil Wedgewood (wedgywoo).
30 players for the 4th online tournament and Rob Eilbeck continues his impressive run of cashes at Northern Poker Stars events, both live and online. Jeff Cass makes his third final table in a row, but not the 1st place that he wanted, after a 3rd and 2nd at the last two online tournaments. Neil Wedgewood has played two and made the final table at both. Mike Farrer gets some points at last, (that only leaves me to get some!!), although if he had stayed sensible instead of thinking that he was Gus Hansen, then he might have won? Rob picked up $375.00, Mike collected $225.00 and the better poker player, of the Blackburn brothers, Neil won $150.00.. Very welcome money, a few days before Christmas. A very special mention goes to Jodeal who finished 4th in her 1st online tournament.. Not only is she one of the finest Northern Poker Stars dealers, but she can also play. Well Done Miss Joanne Marshall. The next NPS Online Tournament will be held on Monday 5th January 2009 @ 7:30pm.

Winner: STEVEN GREIG AKA chappers08
Results: 1st, Steven Greig (chappers08). 2nd, Jeff Cass (BLOND1E). 3rd, William Blackburn (Wilma777). 4th, Gary Clucas (gazcluc). 5th, Neil Wedgewood (wedgywoo). 6th, Nick Birchall (nickjohn63). 7th, Roman Todd (RTUnit). 8th, Mark Farr (MoxieVegas). 9th, Andrew Cowley (ilovesmeg). 10th, Kevin Teasdale (marra211).
Thanks to everyone who took part. The numbers were back up now as we didn't have to contend with Ricky Fatton or the mighty Toffee's. 34 players took part making the entire prize pool some $850. We have picked up some new players and if everyone that has played the online tournaments so far enters the next one, we will have over 50 players. This will be held on Monday 22nd December 2008 @ 7:30pm. The top 5 players cashed and the payout was as follows, 5th, wedgywoo playing his 1st online event won $68. Well Done Neil. 4th, gazcluc showed that he can do it online also (poker) and collected $93.50. 3rd, After being the drunkest man at the Vegas tournament, the night before, Wilma777 had sobered up enough to cash in for $136. That should have covered what you spent on drink? 2nd, BLOND1E collected $212.50. Great play Jeff. 3rd last time, will it be 1st place on the 22nd? And our WINNER chappers08 picked up $340 and a free seat to the Live Charity Tournament @ Egremont Con's Club on 14th December 2008. Online tournaments are certainly paying you well chappers? He won over $1000 last week! The online tournament on the 22nd is already listed. If you want to register now, get in touch and I will provide you with the password, otherwise I will be sending it out on the 19th. Thanks Everyone!

Results: 1st, Rob Eilbeck (bodrob). 2nd, Alex Green (alex060). 3rd, Jeff Cass (BLOND1E). 4th, Neil Blackburn (myduss). 5th, Steven Greig (chappers08). 6th, Graeme Jones (whavenjones). 7th, Paul Christian (Fletch2309). 8th, Brian Heywood (TightAsADucksArs). 9th, Stephen Brough (solwaylil). 10th, Paul Robson (moncojoe007).
Sorry about the delay in posting the results, but some players failed to inform me of their Blue Square tablenames and I have only just got the required information. 23 players at the 2nd Online Tournament, but I am not too concerned about the drop in numbers because of the following reasons. 2 players were in Vegas for the Hatton fight. 2 players were watching Everton get humbled by Wigan, (serves you both right for being Toffee fans, VBlue24 & gasaxeman), BazzSilver21 was taken down with illness, and several others were on the wrong shift. What is a concern though is the amount of players that we lost because they tried to register with seconds remaining and didn't do it in time. I send you the password in plenty of time, so please in future don't leave it to the last minute? Also trying to download the Blue Square software with 10 minutes until the start of the tournament is not recommended. The total prize pool was $575. Congratulations to Rob Eilbeck for his win. Rob picked up $287.50 and also receives a free seat at the Northern Poker Stars Live Charity Tournament @ Egremont Conservative Club on Sunday 14th December 2008. Alex green from Kendal collected $172.50 for 2nd place and Jeff Cass from Maryport picked up $115. The next online tournament will be held on Monday 8th December 2008 @ 7:30pm. PLEASE DONT BE LATE!

Well Done To Everyone.. 35 Players at our 1st Online Tournament. I am sure that we will get more and more at future events. Bear this in mind, Monday night, $25 + $2.50 to enter, and a total prize pool of $875. 5th Place, $70. 4th Place, $96.25. 3rd Place, $140. 2nd Place, $218.75. 1st Place, $350 and a free seat at the next Northern Poker Stars Live Charity Tournament. Can't ask for much more than that on a school night?? We had players from Kendal, thanks Gary & Mark, Maryport, thanks Jeff, Millom, thanks Neil, as well as local players from the West. This is what I wanted, poker fans from all over the region playing against each other. The money we have spent to enter the event stays in our community and has been won by Northern Poker Stars members. You will get the opportunity to get your money back, both at the live games and the next online tournament which will be held on Monday 24th November 2008 @ 19:30hrs (I will speak to Blue Square to ensure that in future, this is the start time of the online tournaments).
