LAS VEGAS QUALIFIERS

NORTHERN POKER STARS AIMS TO TAKE MORE AND MORE PLAYERS, EVERY YEAR TO THE MECCA OF POKER, LAS VEGAS, FOR THE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME, DURING THE WORLD SERIES OF POKER.

THIS IS THE MOST EXCITING PRIZE EVER TO BE OFFERED AT ANY OF THE REGIONS LIVE TOURNAMENTS!

When I first came up with the idea of offering such an amazing series of competitions with the ultimate prize of an All Expenses Paid Trip To Las Vegas, I knew that I was onto a winner. The response however blew me away. Interest has been unbelievable and players from all areas of the region are wanting to play this series of tournaments. Last years trip to Vegas was a huge success and I aim to make this years even better.
On offer is an All Expenses Paid Trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The dates will be 23rd - 30th June 2010. This will include:
Return travel from Cumbria to a UK departure airport.
Return direct flight to Las Vegas, Nevada.
7 nights stay in the world famous Bellagio hotel or a suitable equivalent.
A bonus surprise award for all lucky winners.

This prize will be awarded to a minimum of two players. We guarantee that the first place finisher and the WildCard draw winner will receive this prize package. The WildCard is a draw for any player that enters all 5 tournaments, regardless of where they finish. Hence loyalty to these series of events is being rewarded. If a player pays for all 5 events in advance and then goes on to play in all 5, they will receive 2 entries into the WildCard draw. If the fund justifies additional winners, then we will retort back to the second place finisher, then the third etc.

The events will all be held at The Haven Club, Hensingham, Whitehaven. All events will start at 3pm sharp and doors will be open at 2pm. The dates of the events are:

Sunday 20th September 2009
Sunday 18th October 2009
Sunday 22nd November 2009
Sunday 24th January 2010
Saturday 13th February 2010

Tickets are on sale now and are limited to 100 players. PLEASE ACT FAST TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT! These events are a logistic nightmare to organise, so please could anyone wishing to play pay for their tickets at the very latest, three days in advance of the tournament start date. I WILL NOT BE RESERVING SEATS AT THESE EVENTS! Any player that wants to turn up on the day with the intention of getting a seat do so at their own risk. You can purchase either single tickets or pay for the full 5 tournaments, if you so wish.
Tickets are priced at £30 per tournament with £15 per player paid out on the night in the prize pool. The other £15 goes into the Vegas fund. £10 rebuy’s are available for the first 90 minutes of the tournament and a £10 add-on is also available at the break. The rebuy’s and add-on are not mandatory and it is up to the individual player if they so wish to purchase them. All rebuy’s and add-on’s go into the Vegas fund.
Each player is awarded points in relation to where they finish in the tournament. Points are added up for the series of 5 tournaments and the player with the lowest average score, plus the winner of the WildCard draw, are guaranteed the Vegas experience. This year, the scoring will be your best 4 results from the 5 events. At the end of event 5, I will drop your worst result from the series of events. This allows for a player to have an off-day or to be on the wrong end of a Bad Beat. This ruling will only apply to players that have entered all 5 events. To clarify, I will not drop a result from an event that you have not attended. It may be that there are enough funds to justify additional winners, so it is important to keep supporting the tournaments. In reality, the more people that play, the greater the Vegas fund, the more winners the fund can reward. To enable players to enter all 5 tournaments, I am allowing a player to be represented at any 2 out the 5 events, by a proxy. I understand that people have family and work commitments, so with prior notice to myself, a proxy player can represent any player at any 2 of the tournaments, so that the main player continues to accumulate points in the competition and retains their eligibility to enter the Wildcard draw. A proxy player can represent more than one main player and the main player can nominate 2 different proxy players for different events. A proxy player, cannot be an active member of the Vegas Qualifiers. The proxy must not be eligable to win the prize in their own right. If they have evtered the Vegas events and have then decided to drop out, then they can be used.

The scoring will be as follows:

If a player finishes 82nd they will be awarded 82 points.
If a player finishes 43rd they will be awarded 43 points.
If a player finishes 11th they will be awarded 11 points.

Your finishing position is equivalent to the number of points that you receive in that event.
Final Table scoring is as follows:

10th place = 9 points
9th place = 8points
8th place = 7 points
7th place = 6 points
6th place = 5 points
5th place = 4 points
4th place = 3 points
3rd place = 1 point
2nd place = -1 point
1st place = -3 points

Any player that misses any tournament, will be awarded the maximum number + 1 points for that tournament. For example a player misses event 2 and is not represented by a proxy. There are 84 players at event 2. The player is awarded 85points for missing the event.

CONDITIONS

Northern Poker Stars will offer no cash alternative.

The dates of the trip once announced will be fixed.  They are to coincide with the World Series Of Poker Championship 2010.

Northern Poker Stars is not responsible for refusal of entry into the USA.

All winners will be responsible for their own travel insurance.

All winners will be required to share a room.  2 people only, with separate beds.

Food and drink are not included in the prize package, though I will be taking the winners for a meal in Vegas.

The legal age of any person that wishes to consume alcohol or gamble in Las Vegas is 21.  Please bear this in mind.  Any person under this age is welcome to play in the Vegas qualifiers, as long as they are over the age of 18, but would not fully benefit from the prize on offer, so would be advised to find a buyer for their prize, in the event that they should win.

The bonus surprise award is at the discretion of the owner of Northern Poker Stars. The inner will be representing Northern Poker Stars and would be required to wear clothing bearing the Northern Poker Star logo, which will be provided.

All winners should act responsibly whilst on the trip and have consideration for others.
